Used Toyota Proace for sale
The Toyota Proace is a mid-sized van that proves to be a popular choice amongst many thanks to its versatile nature and affordable running costs.
There are a variety of reasons to opt for a Proace over its competitors, including:
- Typical Toyota build quality
- Plenty of space
- Good amount of kit
- Multiple powertrains to choose from
- Looks quite smart
Economy, Towing, and Performance
Go for the 1.5-litre diesel, and you'll find either 101bhp or 118bhp, while the larger 2.0-litre unit offers punchier figures of 121bhp or 174bhp. If you plan on regularly towing or carrying heavy loads, we'd recommend the larger engines due to the increase in pulling power.
The electric variant produces 136bhp and is capable of travelling up to 205 miles on a single charge, depending on which battery size you go for. With a 1,000kg braked towing limit, it can't tow quite as much as its diesel siblings, but this is to be expected.
Bodystyles, Payload, and Capacity
The Proace is available in three bodystyles; compact, medium, and long, with each offering a different amount of load length.
Compact variants are designed to draw interest away from smaller vans such as the Ford Transit Connect and offer 2,162mm of load length. Medium examples are around the average for the class, offering 2,512mm of load length, and long variants offer the most, with 2,862mm.
In terms of payloads, compact models are capped at 1,000kg, while medium and long models have a maximum of 1,400kg depending on exact specification. Electric models also have a maximum payload of 1,226kg, again depending on which battery you go for.
On top of impressive carrying capabilities, the Proace is well-equipped with a variety of tools to ensure life is made easier, including 50/50 split doors, a Smart cargo area with load-through bulkhead, and eight floor anchor points.
Interior, Technology, and Safety
Vans are designed to do a job and often feature uninspiring cabins, but not in the Proace's case. With plenty of tech and a comfortable interior for your workforce, daily duties while onboard are made that bit easier. Admittedly, it's not the most refined out there, but it's very well-built and easy to get on with.
Entry-level models do come with a fair amount of kit, but if you fancy getting your hands on the latest technology, you'll want to find a higher-spec model as they offer the likes of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a head-up display and a larger multimedia system to make changing songs or adjusting settings easier.
In terms of safety equipment, there's plenty of it available across the range, including:
- Blind spot monitoring system
- Pre-collision assist
- Adaptive cruise control
- Front parking sensors
- Vehicle stability control
Is the Toyota Proace right for me?
The Toyota Proace is a great choice if you're looking for a medium-sized van that's highly dependable and well-built. It offers plenty of tech and a versatile interior to make it a great match for a variety of workforces and purposes.
As previously mentioned, it's almost identical to the likes of the Peugeot Partner and Citroën Dispatch, so it's definitely worth checking those out before committing. You may also want to search further afield and look at other popular choices, including the Mercedes-Benz Vito and Volkswagen Transporter.
