Used Peugeot Partner for sale
The award-winning Peugeot Partner has been around since 1996, spanning multiple generations. Here we are focusing on the third generation, which was showcased in 2018.
Underneath, it's the same as the equally popular Citroën Berlingo.
This duo face stiff competition in the used van market from the likes of the Ford Transit Connect and Renault Kangoo.
Despite this, the Peugeot Partner is still a fine used choice, being awarded International Van of the Year in 2019, along with its Citroën Berlingo sibling. Reasons to buy a used Partner are listed below.
- Efficient engines
- Decent payload
- Clean styling
- Easy to drive
Economy, Towing, and Performance
When browsing used Peugeot Partner vans, you'll see many come with either a 1.5-litre or 1.6-litre diesel engine. There's also a 1.2-litre petrol engine, too.
The diesels unsurprisingly offer the best economy with up to 55mpg possible, whilst the petrol returns a not too shabby 44mpg. The latter is better suited to short journeys, whilst the former are better for longer trips. Both offer plenty of poke and are nice and easy to drive, along with being comfortable.
If you need to tow with the Peugeot Partner, you can haul between 680 and 750kg unbraked, and up to 1,200kg braked.
Bodystyles, Payload, and Capacity
There are a few bodystyles to choose from when looking at used Peugeot Partners. A standard Partner panel van comes with a sliding door as standard, and you can find examples with extra sliding doors which got spec'd from new as an extra.
All body heights are the same, but you can choose between standard and long body lengths. Therefore, capacity can be different depending on bodystyle.
Load length is 1,819mm, whilst load height is 1,236mm on the standard model. Load length increases to 2,167mm, whilst height is 1,243mm on the long model. Width is 1,550mm on both.
Payload of the Peugeot Partner is up to 1,000kg depending on the specific model.
Interior, Technology, and Safety
The interior in this third generation Peugeot Partner is excellent by van standards, offering plenty of style and tech.
Peugeot's i-Cockpit features in the range, meaning the smaller than average steering wheel and higher mounted instrument panel may take some getting used to for some, but it does make the van feel sportier.
You'll find plenty of storage space on offer too, along with a sharp touchscreen and crisp dials. You can find upgraded kit and tech such as the Surround Rear Vision package which comes in handy due to no rear window.
DAB, automatic headlights, remote locking, air-conditioning, rear parking sensors, alarm, sat-nav, alloy wheels, electric windows and heated door mirrors are available too, so worth looking out for on higher specification examples.
This is the same with safety features, which get more impressive the more you spend and include lane-departure warning, traffic sign recognition, blind spot monitoring, Grip Control with Hill Descent Assist and cornering lights.
Is the Peugeot Partner right for me?
If you're in the market for a decent used compact van, you can't really go far wrong with the award-winning Peugeot Partner.
Sure, the Ford Transit Connect and seemingly plusher VW Caddy will also interest, but the Peugeot and similar Citroën Berlingo are just dependable decent vans all round.
