Used Hyundai Tucson for sale

The fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson was introduced in 2021. After the third-generation offered consumers a sophisticated and handsome mid-sized SUV, setting it apart from its competition, does this all-new model complement the vehicle's evolution?

On first impressions, the design aspect has been enhanced even further, and then some. The previous model was mature and almost subtle in its approach, however this fourth-generation model offers a properly striking exterior design, far more extrovert that the SUV it replaces.

This is more than just an evolution, this is a design revolution for Hyundai and offers:

  • Head-turning style
  • A fine driving experience
  • A smart interior

Engines and Driving Experience

Tucson Rear Driving

Engine choice is simplistic and straight forward making use of the swing towards petrol and mild hybrid (MHEV) options, all coming from a 1.6-litre base. The petrol version can be had with 147bhp or 177bhp. The former takes around 9.5 seconds to get from 0 to 62mph whilst the more powerful offering takes 8.7 seconds.

Economy is circa 40mpg. The 226bhp hybrid can complete the 0 to 62mph dash the fastest, taking 7.7 seconds whilst being able to return almost 50mpg.

Hyundai is so committed with how their cars drive that it has a development team located at the infamous Nürburgring Germany. The Tucson was therefore put through its paces on the track to ensure it provides a driving experience that will interest keen drivers.

Practicality and Running Costs

Tucson Boot

As well as being a design revolution, this Tucson has also been enhanced in the practicality stakes too. Hyundai state there is 26mm more rear legroom when compared with the third-generation Tucson, as well as a larger boot space increased by 33 litres to 620 litres. Although it's worth noting the hybrid version loses a few litres due to the tech stored beneath the boot floor.

When the 40:20:40 folding rear seats are lowered, the boot space increases to a colossal 1,799 litres. There is also plenty of space for three adults in the back too.

As for running costs, the engine choices mean you'll see around 40mpg with relative ease, whilst servicing should be pretty straight forward and reasonable too, which can be taken care of at any Evans Halshaw Hyundai dealer.

Interior, Technology and Safety

Digital Tucson Cluster

Like most models being launched around 2020/2021, the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson features an interior heavily focused with a digital vibe.

A fully-digital tablet-style 10.25-inch display replaces the analogue dials of old, complemented by a 10.25-inch infotainment screen too. These both round off the stylish and sophisticated ambience of the cabin.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come as standard, along with 17-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, a rear-view camera and folding door mirrors. Unlike some new models, which only get digital dials when you select a more premium model, the Tucson gets the full digital set-up, even on the base model.

As for safety, the Tucson features best-in-class advanced driver-assistance systems, along with features including:

  • A Blind Spot View Monitor
  • Seven airbags
  • High Beam Assist
  • Navigation Based Smart Cruise Control

Is the Hyundai Tucson right for me?

In a world where the SUV shows no signs of slowing in popularity, the fourth-generation Hyundai Tucson offers a package showcasing all the sought-after features you would want in this sort of vehicle.

Stunning looks, state-of-the-art technology and a driving experience tailored to impress even the most keen drivers ensure the Tucson is a properly attractive package.

Other mid-sized SUVs such as the Peugeot 3008, Kia Sportage and Nissan Qashqai are comparable rivals, with the Peugeot probably matching the Tucson like for like.

In this environment, the Tucson more than stands out as a frontrunner. A test drive and personal taste will confirm if this is the SUV for you.
