Introducing the all-new Nissan Ariya
Representing the three main pillars of Nissan Intelligent Mobility (Intelligent Power, Intelligent Drive and Intelligent Integration), the all-new Nissan Ariya is the face of Nissan's new electrified brand identity.
Being the first Nissan all-electric coupé crossover, the Ariya delivers stunning looks, advanced technology and a luxuriously comfortable interior.
Sharing some of the same features as the popular LEAF, the characterful coupé crossover is a welcome addition to Nissan's hybrid and electric range, helping them to achieve their goal of a future with zero emissions.
Design and Practicality
Chic, elegant and futuristic, the design of the all-new Ariya is unique and refreshing. LED headlamps, sporty 19-inch aluminium wheels and a one-piece light blade on the rear simply enhance the fresh, stylish poise of the fully-electric coupé crossover.
A key focal point is the new illuminated Nissan badge, taking centre stage on the front of the vehicle.
Head and legroom is in abundance, even for rear-seat passengers; making every journey comfortable and enjoyable. Luggage capacity is decent too, with 466 litres up for grabs in the two-wheel drive version.
Not only are there plenty of convenient storage compartments, beneath the centre of the instrument panel is a centre storage box with a foldout tray, which is suitable for a mobile office workspace.
Technology and Safety
As you'd expect from a futuristic-looking electric vehicle (EV), the all-new Ariya is suitably well-equipped with the latest innovative technology and safety features.
Along with high levels of comfort, the Ariya allows drivers to feel confident and safe thanks to an enhanced ProPILOT, which is a hands-on assistance system helping drivers to stay centred in their lane, navigate stop-and-go highway traffic as well as helping to maintain a set speed and distance from the vehicle in front.
You can also expect driver assistance features such as the Nissan Safety Shield, which includes:
- Intelligent Around View Monitor
- Intelligent Forward Collision Warning
- Intelligent Emergency Braking
- Rear Automatic Emergency Braking Technology
Range and Performance
Two batteries and three powertrains are available to choose from. Both the 63kWh and 87kWh battery can be selected as the two-wheel drive Ariya or the all-wheel drive Ariya e-4FORCE. Finally, the fifth option is the Ariya e-4FORCE 87kWh Performance model.
Depending on which of the five models you go for, the fully-electric Ariya is capable of travelling up to 310 miles on a single charge (two-wheel drive Ariya 87kWh) and the 87kWh Performance model has an outstanding total power output of 389bhp.
The most powerful model can complete the notorious 0 to 62mph time in just 5.1 seconds, and due to all variants being battery electric vehicles there are zero tailpipe emissions.
On top of these impressive figures, the all-new Ariya will be rated to tow up to 1500kg.
As the Ariya is a fully-electric coupé crossover, the car will need its battery charging by plugging-in.
BEVs can be charged easily at home using a standard household socket, however charging time tends to be very slow compared to the alternatives.
The 63kWh versions of the Nissan Ariya carry a 7.4kW on-board charger, perfect for a dedicated wallbox, whilst the 87kWh variants include a 22kW three-phase on-board charger for home charging, if your home has the ability.
Calling at public charging stations needn't be a worry with the all-new Ariya as it supports ultra-rapid-charging up to 130kW.
