Introducing the Fiat Scudo

Fiat E-Scudo Front Angle

Introduced in the mid-nineties, the Fiat Scudo is the medium-sized van offering in the Fiat Professional range.

It sits above the tiny Fiorino and compact Doblò, but beneath the large, award-winning Ducato.

It also comes as a fully-electric offering, in the form of the E-Scudo, along with more familiar internal combustion versions.

Payload and Capacity

Fiat E-Scudo Badge

With medium panel vans being ultra-popular in business, the Fiat Scudo offers a fine package and is available as a crew cab, also.

The styling is typical of a panel van, but the Scudo offers a touch of Italian style with its clean and sharp headlight design and overall neat vibe.

Multifunctional, the Scudo offers car-like comfort and a large cargo space, with up to 6m3 possible.

The external length of the Fiat Scudo is 4.96/5.93m with a height of 1.9 to 1.94m.

This ensures a decent load volume of 5.3 to 5.8m3 and up to 1.4 ton of payload.

Technology and Safety

Fiat E-Scudo Interior Dashboard

Technology is cutting-edge in the Fiat Scudo. There's a crisp and clean 5 or 10-inch infotainment display, depending on the spec you choose.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available in the range to ensure you and your business can keep connected safely.

Depending on model chosen, you can also take advantage of a digital instrument cluster, which really enhanced the vibe of the interior - which crisp analogue dials are also available if you'd prefer.

There's up to 13 active and passive safety features too. These include:

  • Traffic sign recognition
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Advanced Emergency Braking System
  • Rearview Camera
  • Grip Control

Engines and Performance

Fiat E-Scudo Driving

There is a choice of diesel engines, along with a fully-electric offering in the form of the Fiat E-Scudo.

Starting with the diesels, there's the option of a 1.5-litre with 118bhp, or a more powerful 2.0-litre unit with 143bhp. Both are available with a manual gearbox, with the larger engine also available with an automatic transmission.

Economy falls between 34 and 38mpg depending on exact specification of the diesel engine chosen.

Alternatively, the E-Scudo offers a fully-electric powertrain which produces 134bhp. This ensures a range of up to 217 miles, along with the somewhat uncanny experience of a fully-electric van.

Charging

In terms of the fully-electric E-Scudo version, charging will depend on your chosen set-up, but with access to fast DC charging you can get the 75kWh battery to 80 percent in around 45 minutes.
