Introducing the Fiat Doblò

Fiat E-Doblo Side View Angle

Unveiled just after the millennium in the year 2000, the Doblò has been Fiat's answer to the compact and versatile van.

Now in its third generation, after a redesign in 2022, it's now a more polished offering, being a simplistic yet dependable compact panel van.

And with the evolution of electric vehicles, there's also an E-Doblò, which is a fully-electric version available in the range, too.

Payload and Capacity

Fiat E-Doblo Load

The first thing to note about the Fiat Doblò is that are the two lengths available - a short wheelbase and a long wheelbase version. There's a load-through bulkhead too, ideal for extending the practicality when needed.

The short has an external length of 4.4 metres, whilst the long is increase to 4.75 metres, with both vans having the same height from 1.8 to 1.86m tall.

Load volume is 3.3 to 3.8 metres for the short wheelbase or 3.9 to 4.4 metres for the long wheelbase.

Payload is also different depending on which version you are looking at:

  • Short Wheelbase - 650 & 1,000 kg
  • Long Wheelbase - 950kg
  • E-Doblò - 800kg

Technology and Safety

Fiat E-Doblo Interior

Van interiors are usually associated with the term 'functional', and 'basic'. But the Doblò has a smart cockpit considering its workhorse nature.

A welcome addition to the cabin is the 8-inch capacitive colour touchscreen, which comes as standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Various packs and specs can be tailored to fit your business, but as standard the Doblò features air conditioning, cruise control, electric parking brake, and automatic lights and wipers.

There's the option of a reversing camera, which is located in the rearview mirror too, which also enhances the Doblò's safety aspects too.

Active lane assist, speed sign recognition and advanced emergency braking are available to specify too, if you want enhanced safety in your Doblò.

Engines and Performance

Fiat E-Doblo Rear View

There are multiple engines available with the Fiat Doblò, including the familiar diesel and petrol units, along with a fully-electric E-Doblò powertrain too, for emission-free driving, ideal if you're entering cities which welcome the use of electric vehicles, as you won't have to pay certain charges.

However, if you're more a fan of familiar internal combustion, then there's a 1.5-litre diesel with varying levels of power, whilst a 1.2-litre petrol engine is also available.

The E-Doblò is equipped with a 100 kW electric motor and a 50kWh battery that offers up to 173 miles of range.

Each engine option will appeal to different customers, whilst the E-Doblò allows for a new emission-free experience.
