The Fiat Ducato is a large and dependable van which first appeared back in 1981, meaning the van has quite the legacy.

Today, the Ducato is still a solid choice for those looking for a large van, that can get any job done.

And with a fully-electric E-Ducato variant available, it's also an excellent choice for those looking for practicality and sustainability in one large package.

Technology and Safety

Fiat Ducato Interior

Van interiors are usually bland and a bit basic. But the Ducato has a smart cockpit considering its large workhorse nature.

Various packs and specs can be tailored to fit your business. As standard there's a 5-inch infotainment set-up, whilst a 7-inch and 10-inch screen are available as a cost option, with the latter pair featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

There's also the option of a digital cockpit (3.5-inch TFT screen and analogue dials as standard) which further enhances the cabin, it just depends on how plush or workhorse-like you want your cabin, which is ideal for tailoring to your business needs.

Owners can choose various packs to further enhance safety too, with Autonomous Emergency Brake Control, Lane Control and Adaptive Cruise Control being available.

Engines and Performance

Being a large van, Fiat has ensured the Ducato has multiple diesel engines to spec.

These are a 2.2-litre unit with varying levels of power, starting with a 118bhp unit, rising to a mid-range 138bhp version, finishing with a 178bhp range-topping version. Again, the Fiat Ducato gives you a good choice of power, to further tailor the van to you and your business needs.

These engines are now more efficient and with a 9-speed automatic gearbox available in the range, it's no wonder to see the Ducato being a award winner, year after year. The overall driving experience is typical of a large van, but Fiat have ensured you can make the cabin and overall experience as plush as you see fit.

There's also an E-Ducato version available, which is fully-electric, offering between 146 and 230 miles of range.

Charging

In terms of the Fiat E-Ducato, charging times will depend on your chosen set-up, but the E-Ducato can support up to 50kW DC charging.

This means up to 80 percent capacity can be achieved in 50 minutes for the small battery or 85 minutes for the large battery.

Test Drive a Fiat Ducato

A dependable van which was born in the eighties, the Fiat Ducato is still a great large van, and is now available with a cutting edge fully-electric powertrain, complementing the van's offerings further.
