There are two diesel options, both of which are derived from a 1.3-litre engine that is available in 74 and 94bhp outputs. Over 70mpg can be achieved with this unit, making it ideal for long distance travelers.
Truth be told, the Corsa isn't the most thrilling car to drive in the world. However, it's comfortable and offers an easy driving experience. If you want smiles, then consider the VXR, which boasts a 202bhp turbocharged 1.6-litre engine alongside bigger brakes and various suspension upgrades.
Practicality and Running Costs
Despite being a relatively small car, the Corsa is surprisingly big inside, with plenty of head and leg room for passengers to enjoy. Similar to rivals, you can choose a model with five doors, which makes it easier to fit a child's seat and retrieve items from the rear.
The boot space isn't up there with the class leaders in this segment, but with 285 litres available it's hardly what you'd call small. A 60/40 split folding bench and false floor were available, so it's worth keeping an eye out for examples with those fitted.
Running costs are unlikely to be too dear on all but the VXR, with a large portion of Corsa models sitting in insurance groups below 10 (50 being the highest).
