Introducing the Peugeot Rifter

It's easy to think that the Rifter is simply a converted van with seven-seats chucked in. That's not the reality, because inside you get a raft of quality materials that feel robust and well bolted together. You also benefit from Peugeot's latest interior design language, which makes for a very pleasant place to spend time.

The Rifter is the ultimate in everyday convenience and practicality. The ability to seat seven in comfort may be common among large SUVs, but none of them match the Rifter for head and leg room; there's acres of space for everyone! Two sliding doors are the metaphorical cherry on top of the cake.

There's a massive 775 litres of boot space at your disposal, which is easily accessed via the large boxy opening and low loading sill.

The infotainment system is very user-friendly and responds swiftly to your inputs, making navigation easy when you're on the move. Rifter boasts Advanced Grip Control®, which is designed to optimise grip in a variety of challenging conditions. There are five driving modes to choose from (Standard, Snow, Mud, Sand & ESP Off).

Safety features available include:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking System
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Active Lane Keeping Assistance
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Speed limit sign recognition

Economy and Performance

Peugeot Rifter Driving, Side

Rifter is available with Peugeot's award-winning PureTech petrol and innovative BlueHDi diesel engines, both of which have been widely recognised for their excellent performance and efficiency.

The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine provides plenty of punch despite its humble size, yet it can still return close to 50 mpg on a combined cycle.

The 1.5-litre diesel engine offers effortless acceleration and makes more sense if you do a lot of miles every year. With close to 70 mpg achievable on a combined cycle with little effort, it certainly won't cost a lot to run!

A 5 or 6-speed manual gearbox comes as standard depending on the model, although it's the 8-speed automatic that really impresses with its silky-smooth gear changes.
