MAN are famous for producing trucks, so it's no surprise that they also had a crack at making a van too. The TGE came along in 2017 and is essentially a re-badged Volkswagen Crafter. Like many vans today, this is no surprise as many foundations are shared, and the VW is a great base.
This means the MAN goes up against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Ford Transit.
The MAN TGE is a comfortable van, and is very car-like to drive. The MAN trucking network for servicing and aftercare is superb, so the TGE is a great ownership prospect. Add in the VW connection and as a used van proposition it's very tempting.
It comes with a VW 2.0-litre TDI engine, with plenty of power outputs and specs. Interiors are smart and ergonomic, as is the case with VW products. Unbraked towing capability is 750kg like all vans, whilst braked the figure is increased to up to 3,500kg.
There are multiple versions, including Standard, Long and Extra-long versions, which are also offered with Standard, High or Super high roofs.
