Design and Practicality
Renault describes the Symbioz as the ultimate lifestyle car. The French manufacturer has made an effort to combine the advantages of a compact car with those of a traditional family car.
As a result, the Symbioz utilises a modular interior design. This means the front seats are fully electric for effortless adjustability, whilst the rear bench can slide forwards and backwards to suit your needs.
The sliding rear bench pays dividends in the boot, which in its standard format provides you with 492 litres of space. This can then grow to 624 litres with the second row of seats pushed forwards.
Fold the rear seats down entirely, and you'll have 1,498 litres of space at your disposal. Because of the nature of the rear seats, Renault has given the Symbioz large rear doors, which is essential for families with young children.
Technology and Safety
Designed to enhance driving pleasure, the Symbioz is equipped with Renault's openR link multimedia system, which has the added benefit of Google integration.
The 10.4-inch central touchscreen acts as a gateway to the multimedia settings, live navigation (courtesy of Google Maps) and vehicle settings, as well as the climate controls.
Integrated apps, such as Waze and Amazon Music, pair seamlessly with your smartphone to make every journey an enjoyable one.
Voice control allows you to take control of your vehicle on the move. The assistant allows you to set the navigation, change music and monitor the Symbioz's settings with a simple vocal instruction.

Engines and Performance
The Renault Symbioz is delivered with the brand's hybrid technology, which in this instance comprises of two forms.
Combining a 1.6-litre petrol unit with a battery pack and motor, the full hybrid E-Tech 160 produces 162bhp and will return up to 64.2mpg on a combined cycle. There's also a mild hybrid variant, which is plenty efficient too, offering 142bhp and up to 47.9mpg combined. The former is most suitable for those that want the cleanest means of driving, as it can also leverage the larger battery alone for an all-electric driving experience on shorter journeys.
Both options utilise self-charging hybrid technology, which makes for convenient ownership since you don't need to worry about public charging or installing a wallbox charger at home. In an effort to maximise efficiency, the live navigation reads the route ahead as you drive, and will prepare the hybrid system and gearbox accordingly, meaning you're never short on power, and that your car is always returning the best possible fuel economy.
