Design and Practicality
The new Scenic E-Tech features a sleek design that has been improved to give the wow factor. The novelty of the Solarbay opacifying panoramic roof creates a pleasant experience to the driver and passengers.
The unique signature headlights placed on top of the grille creates a high-tech effect giving the vehicle a futuristic appearance. There’s a new LED adaptative technology, available in certain trims that adapt the beam pattern to the driving conditions, automating the process and giving the driver more comfort and ease.
Boot space is perfect for a family getaway. The 545 litres available provides plenty of room to transport big suitcases. It’s possible to transport larger items by folding the rear bench, making the total storage space available in 1,670 litres.
Technology and Safety
With an updated infotainment system, the onboard technology provides a safe and fun journey. The OpenR multimedia systems features more than 50 apps, including a journey planner and entertainment such as applications for audiobooks and radio.
Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Google Play are among the preinstalled apps that provide music quizzes and family games to keep everyone entertained.
Access to the systems is available through two large screens joined in an L-shape display. The horizontal screen is 12.3-inch and the vertical 12-inch display is placed in the middle of the console. It’s possible to keep track of the battery level as the remaining range is displayed on the system for an easier view whilst driving.
Charging phones has never been so easy with the wireless charger available underneath the screens. This feature allows you to clear the cables from the vehicle, making it safer and more convenient to navigate.
Range and Performance
Renault has stripped away the complexity with the Scenic, offering a simplified and highly efficient powertrain designed to make everyday driving effortless. The choice isn't yours, as there's only a single option - but don't worry, as it's a highly-efficient all-electric powertrain that makes light work of daily chores and longer journeys.
With 223bhp on tap, it packs quite a punch, which is ideal when overtaking motorway traffic or when fully-loaded with your family and their luggage. You can also achieve up to 381 miles on a single recharge, allowing you to venture further afield than ever before.
But performance isn't the Scenic's first priority, despite offering impressive figures. This is a car that delivers comfort and everyday usability, offering a pleasant experience for all on-board, even on the UK's pothole-laden roads.
Charging
Charging the Scenic E-Tech is easy with the optimised Journey Planner, which has been improved to give drivers peace of mind and ensures they won’t run out of battery when they need it the most. This feature allows the system to enhance charging time and shortening the journey time by pre-conditioning the battery's temperature when nearing charging stops on the journey.
Rapid charging when on the move is the quickest option, with a 15 to 80 percent charge taking just 37 minutes when using a 150kW public charging station. Home charging is the most convenient option though, allowing you to start each day as fresh as the preceding one with an overnight recharge. Other intelligent features, such as regenerative braking deliver enhanced range too - electric driving is truly as convenient as ever.
