Introducing the Renault Captur E-Tech Plug-in Hybrid
The most efficient, dynamic and advanced Captur to date, the All-New Captur E-Tech Plug-in Hybrid is Renault's first plug-in hybrid vehicle. Developed based on Renault's innovative and exclusive E-Tech technology, using knowledge derived from the Renault F1 team, along with the All-New Clio E-Tech.
Suitably prepared for any journey, thanks to its two electric motors, drivers can opt for full-electric mode when city driving or switch to hybrid mode for longer-distance. On longer journeys, the petrol engine and electric motors work in conjunction with each other to maximise fuel economy.
Just like the petrol and diesel powered Captur, the E-Tech model is fully customisable from the interior to the exterior so you can tailor the car to be as individual as you are.
Range and Performance
Drivers don't only benefit from lower running costs, the plug-in hybrid also emits exceedingly low levels of CO2 at only 34g/km. Despite the low emissions and cheaper running costs, the Captur E-Tech still provides an enjoyable drive, delivering 158bhp from the combination of a 1.6-litre petrol engine, a 9.8kWh battery and two electric motors.
The Hybrid crossover SUV has a full-electric range of 30 miles and it starts silently as it uses the main electric motor to start in full electric mode. Reversing is also always in electric mode.
You gain the best of both worlds with the Captur E-Tech as you can drive short distances without consuming fuel, yet tackle longer distance journeys without worrying about the driving range.
Charging
Charging is made simple with the Captur E-Tech as Renault provide customers with a free, fully-installed 7kW BP Chargemaster Homecharger. Whilst out and about driving you can also charge at one of the 1000's of public charging points across the UK.
Two cables come as standard with the Captur hybrid vehicle:
- A 3-pin socket cable which can be plugged into a domestic 3-pin socket and fully charges the vehicle in up to 4.25 hours
- A Type 2 (Mode 3) cable which is used with a dedicated home charger and has a charging time of 3 hours
Charging times vary depending on temperature, battery wear, power delivered by the station and battery charge level. However, for added reassurance, the traction battery comes with an 8 year/100,000 mile warranty.
