Introducing the Renault Captur

The Renault Captur hasn't been around for very long on the grand scheme of things. However, it's made a big impact since its arrival and has won favour with young families across the UK, who have praised its comfortable ride and affordable running costs.

Entering its next generation, the Captur now boasts a sharper exterior transformation, whilst emphasising signature lighting and keeping hold of its iconic two-tone body. The Captur is also bigger than before, giving this stylish SUV even more space inside for the family to enjoy.

Environmentally conscious? The popular SUV is the first Renault car to be available as plug-in hybrid vehicle. The All-New Captur E-Tech is powered by a combination of a petrol engine and electric motors; maximising fuel economy.

Design and Practicality

Renault Captur Boot Space

Endless customisation, to ensure your Captur is as individual as you are, with added sharpness and crisp detailing. Now sporting LED headlamps, the Captur looks a more sleek affair. The headlights curve with the body, interrupting the shape for a more interesting design, following the contours of the front bumper.

Towards the rear, the door line flows more aggressively in-line with the rear boot-lid, giving the side profile more added flair. The rear of the Captur also features an updated rear-light design, which again curves to incorporate the body for a more alluring presence.

From a practicality standpoint, the boot space is very generous. At 536 litres, it's bigger than both the Clio and the Megane hatchbacks, and the sliding rear bench seat gives you the option of more rear legroom or more cargo capacity.

Interior and Technology

Renault Captur Interior

Just like the exterior, the Captur features a fully-customisable interior, for a truly tailored car to suit your exact needs and taste.

Dashboard colour, upholstery, decorative trim and door armrests are all ready to be specified in your exact requirements. However the biggest enhancement in the Captur is the stunning 9.3-inch portrait EASY LINK touchscreen. One of the largest in its segment, the cockpit is transformed and is fully orientated towards the driver.

High-quality premium materials and satin finishes ensure the Captur offers an enhanced interior experience, which doesn't compromise on quality.

Economy and Performance

Renault Captur Side, Rear

The previous Captur wasn't exactly heavy on fuel, but Renault have managed to release better economy and performance with their latest range of petrol and diesel engines as well as a plug-in hybrid option.

There are two different petrol engines with three power outputs to choose from. The three-cylinder turbocharged 1.0-litre suits the lightweight nature of the Captur well, producing 99 bhp. Alternatively, there is a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine (available with 128 or 153 bhp) if you want the extra punch. Expect between 42.8 and 47.1 mpg on a combined cycle.

A manual gearbox is standard for the most part, but higher spec models get to benefit from a smooth automatic transmission.

Test Drive the Renault Captur

The previous generation Captur was a very successful car in the UK because of its inexpensive running costs and technology packed interior. We have no doubt the latest Captur will build on that success because the French giants have taken an excellent recipe and merely improved it, which is only good news for those who buy one.

In fact, don't take our word for it, contact your nearest Evans Halshaw Renault retailer today to book a test drive.
