Introducing the Peugeot Traveller
Thanks to the Peugeot Traveller, the days of people movers being spartan and purely functional are long gone. What's more, it can seat up to eight people in a sea of refinement.
Peugeot Traveller is all about convenience and comfort, which reflects in the features that have been implemented throughout the vehicle. In addition, there's a generous list of equipment and onboard technology that makes driving safer and better connected on a daily basis.
Featuring Peugeot's latest range of engines, the Traveller is surprisingly frugal for its size and therefore very reasonable to run on an annual basis. Carry on reading to learn more about Traveller and how it could make your life easier.
Design and Practicality
Peugeot Traveller excels because it can seat up to eight fully-grown adults in complete comfort, regardless of which vehicle length you choose (consists of standard and long).
However, it's the modularity that is really impressive, because the second and third row seats can be folded down in different configurations to suit, plus they can slide back and forth on rails. If that wasn't enough, the seats can be taken out, making for an interior space that is versatile.
Whether it's going on an cross-country adventure with the family or simply taking the dogs for a walk, the Traveller's 1,350-litre boot is ready to go. Depending on the wheelbase you go for, boot space can be as large as 3,700 litres when the seats have been removed.
Technology and Safety
Peugeot Traveller is well-equipped across the range, with various driver aids and safety features making for a more relaxing driving experience.
A 7.0-inch touchscreen features in the centre console and comes with Bluetooth connectivity, DAB radio, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Complementing this system are three 12 V sockets, a USB port, and an 8-speaker audio set up for the ultimate in connectivity and enjoyment.
Safety is typical of Peugeot and therefore excellent, with the following features coming as standard across all models:
- ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
- Cruise control and speed limiter
- Hill start assist function
- Isofix child seat fittings (x3 sets including top tether) for rear seats
- Electric child locking functionality on rear doors
- Emergency fuel cut off (in event of collision)
Economy and Performance
There are two different diesel engines to choose from, which are available with various power outputs. An all-electric variant has also been made available, aptly named the e-Traveller.
The entry 1.5-litre BlueHDi unit is solely available with 120 bhp and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The unit itself is robust and rewards careful driving with excellent fuel economy of up to 53.9 mpg on a long run (expect up to 47.1 mpg on a combined cycle).
A 2.0-litre BlueHDi diesel engine is also available, but with three power outputs: 120, 150, and 177 bhp respectively. Similar to the smaller engine, a 6-speed manual is the standard gearbox, but a slick 8-speed automatic gearbox is also available. You can expect between 35.5 and 41.9 mpg with mixed driving if you select these engines.
Maximum braked trailer weight is 1,800 kg for the smaller engine and up to 2,300 kg for the larger unit.
