Introducing the new Peugeot 408 Plug-in Hybrid and E-408
The distinctive Peugeot 408 combines the best of both worlds, blending an SUV's muscular frame and high ride height with a sleek fastback profile, making it one of Peugeot's boldest moves to date.
Now available as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and all-electric E-408, it gives you the choice of hybrid versatility and fuel efficiency or the zero-emission driving experience of a fully electric powertrain.
Both versions showcase Peugeot's unique design language, featuring an illuminated Peugeot badge, the signature three-claw LED light design, and the latest evolution of the Peugeot i-Cockpit.
Positioned between Peugeot's popular 308 hatchback and its spacious 3008 family SUV, the 408 offers the practicality of an SUV paired with the sporty silhouette of a fastback.
Range and Performance
Offered as both a plug-in hybrid and all-electric model, the 408 is designed to suit your lifestyle, delivering strong, efficient powertrains that combine impressive performance with flexibility to suit your driving style.
The plug-in hybrid features a 1.6-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor, offering 237bhp and a 0 to 62mph sprint in 7.5 seconds. Electric-only range is set at 53 miles WLTP, allowing you to make short, urban journeys, such as commutes and school runs over the week without even turning the engine on. It delivers combined fuel economy figures of 93 to 123mpg, depending on driving conditions.
The all-electric version, the E-408, comes with a 207bhp electric motor that drives the front wheels, pushing the E-408 from 0 to 62mph in 7.6 seconds. The 58kWh battery gives you a solid 283 miles of range (WLTP), and a heat pump to help keep the range up in colder climates.
Charging
Both the plug-in hybrid and E-408 models are designed to deliver efficient and quick charging.
The plug-in hybrid offers a rapid charge of just over two hours with a standard 7.4kW home wallbox, and takes just under four and a half hours with a standard 3-pin plug, ideal for topping up overnight or during the day.
The all-electric E-408 supports rapid charging up to 120kW, allowing you to charge from 20 to 80 percent in 31 minutes, which is ideal when you're taking a break on a long-distance journey. Home charging is smooth, delivering a 0 to 100 percent charge in around seven and a half hours.
The E-408 also benefits from vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, which allows you to power electric appliances and gear, such as a coffee machine, electric cool boxes and pumps, while out in the wilds.
