Design and Practicality
The brand new Kuga SUV features a fresh and confident design. The addition of a new front grille places the Ford blue oval logo at the centre of attention, and combined with the full-width LED light bar, underlies this vehicle’s strength and purpose.
After a design enhancement, the cabin is roomier than the previous versions, and it displays a competitive interior space. It can easily accommodate five adults, with plenty of leg and headspace in the back of the vehicle.
Perfect for family use, new features have been added to improve passenger comfort in the back. Both outer seats can be heated, it comes with ISOFIX anchor points so you can comfortably fit two children in the rear.
When it comes to storage space, the Kuga doesn’t disappoint. The 347-litre boot can be expanded by folding and sliding down of the rear seats, which increases the space to up to 1,534 litres.
Technology and Safety
The onboard technology has been enhanced to provide easily connectivity and agility. Equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, the infotainment system has been upgraded to SYNC 4, which provides better connectivity to smartphones, 5G, and the cloud.
Another convenient feature is the cable-free access to apps and information, which allows Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to connect wirelessly to the infotainment.
As safety is Ford’s main priority when designing a vehicle, the Kuga has been provided with excellent safety features which includes:

Engines and Performance
Available with a regular hybrid engine and a plug-in hybrid motor, the new Kuga SUV aims at delivering the best performance for this category of vehicles without compromising fuel efficiency.
Providing great drivability in town and in the motorway, you’ll find that the Kuga offers comfort and performs well in steep inclines. Currently, there are three options of hybrid motors to choose from and an option of a plug-in hybrid.
- 1.5-litre EcoBoost FWD producing 147bhp (0 to 62mph in 9.5 seconds and up to 42.8mpg)
- 2.5-litre Petrol Hybrid FWD producing 177bhp (0 to 62mph in 9.1 seconds and up to 51.4mpg)
- 2.5-litre Petrol Hybrid AWD producing 180bhp (0 to 62mph in 8.3 seconds and up to 51.4mpg)
- 2.5-litre Petrol Plug-In Hybrid FWD producing 239bhp (0 to 62mph in 7.3 seconds and up to 200mpg)
Charging
Charging your Ford Kuga SUV plug-in hybrid should be as simple as charging a smartphone. It comes with an EV home charging cable as standard, which can be charged in six hours. Once fully charged, you can expect 27 to 39 miles of range, which can be increased to 54 miles when driving in urban areas where high traffic is expected.
The manufacturer offers wallboxes as extra add-ons which cut down the total charging time, providing full charge in only 3.5 hours.
An optional public charging cable can be purchased separately, and it provides similar charging speed as the wall boxes.
Staying connected with your vehicle is also a possibility through the Fordpass app, which delivers integration with your Kuga SUV plug-in hybrid, sending vehicle health alerts to your smartphone. The app can also help you locate the nearest public charging station and help manage home charging schedules.
