Introducing the new MG3 Hybrid+
Following on from the previous generation, this all-new MG3 Hybrid+ is a complete revamp of MG's supermini, which now boasts a hybrid powertrain for the first time ever.
It aligns perfectly with the rest of the MG range - which offers hybrid, plug-in hybrid, electric and internal combustion choices, meaning finding the right MG model for your lifestyle can be easily achieved.
Design and Practicality
A shift in design can be seen with this all-new MG3 Hybrid+. It's more futuristic, curvaceous and eye-catching than before, with hints of the all-electric MG4's design mantra, which certainly helps the MG3 Hybrid+ look and fit in to MG's futuristic vibe.
The all-new MG3 Hybrid+ supermini sits on 16-inch alloy wheels as standard, and comes in two well-equipped trims; SE and Trophy.
MG3 Hybrid+ is a longer car than the previous generation, which means practicality is enhanced. This means there's more cabin space and also a slightly larger boot, which has now been increased to 293 litres, up from 285 litres.
Interior, Technology, and Safety
Both MG3 Hybrid+ SE and Trophy models come with dual screen technology, comprising a pair of digital screens for the infotainment and instrument cluster.
There's Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, meaning you'll always be connected, whilst satellite navigation is also included.
As for safety, the following features are standard on both SE and Trophy specifications:
- Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)
- Front Collision Warning (FCW)
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
- Emergency Lane Keep Assist (LKAS)
- Adaptive Cruise Control
The Trophy specification adds in a little more features and tech, with a 360-degree camera, heated front seats and steering wheel, rain sensing wipers, privacy glass, keyless entry and LED projector headlights.
Powertrain and Performance
The all-new MG3 Hybrid+ features a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, complemented by a 100kW electric motor and a three-speed automatic transmission.
This allows the MG3 Hybrid+ to produce a total of 191bhp, meaning the performance makes it a pretty nippy, taking just 8.0 seconds to get from 0 to 62mph.
There's three driving modes to toggle between in the all-new MG3 Hybrid+, which comprise of Eco, Standard and Sport.
MG3 Hybrid+ features chassis and suspension specifically tuned for UK roads, taking after the MG4 in being agile and easy to drive.
What's more, the economy of the MG3 Hybrid+ returns an impressive 64mpg.
Charging
There's no need to charge the MG3 Hybrid+, as it's done automatically, via advanced, smart features which include a drive and charge system that allows the engine to power the wheels whilst also charging the battery via a generator.
