On entry-level models, this is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic (7DCT) available as an option.
The automatic transmission is standard on variants towards the upper end of the K4's range. If you're looking for a step up in performance, Kia offers two versions of its larger 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The most powerful of these gives you 177bhp and 195lb ft of torque, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in around 8.4 seconds and reaching a top speed of 128mph.
