Having used the original Megane as their inspiration, the all-new Megane has been designed to provide a comfortable and rewarding drive.
Renault are keen for the all-new Megane to lead them towards a greener, more sustainable future. This is evident by the interior design, which recruits 100 percent recycled materials.
Design and Practicality
Renault have developed a completely new platform for the all-new Megane E-Tech Electric, meaning they can mount the battery lower. Because of this, the centre of gravity is low and there's a large amount of space inside for passengers.
Building on the traditional hatchback bodystyle, the all-new Megane E-Tech boasts a compact design that borrows elements from SUVs. As a result, drivers will benefit from a clearer view of the road ahead and a car that's easy to manoeuvre in and around town.
The all-new Megane E-Tech is ideal for families because it's only available with five doors, each of which opens wide to grant convenient access to the cabin. In the back, there are ISOFIX anchor points on the outer seats, ideal for fitting a child's seat.
Boot space is more than enough at 440 litres, which can be extended to 1,332 litres with the rear seats folded; making enough space for luggage, sports equipment, and more.
Technology and Safety
Dominating the interior are two 12-inch touchscreens with Renault's OpenR multimedia system and instrument cluster and offers seamless navigation. This intuitive system features Google built-in voice control, an EV route planner, and up to 100 in-car apps.
There are also plenty of easy-to-use controls placed around the steering wheel, making the cockpit even more user friendly.
To maximise your safety whilst driving, the all-new Megane E-Tech Electric comes with up to 25 safety features, including:
- Active Drive Assist
- 360° Around View 3D Camera
- Lane Keeping Assist
- Rear Automatic Emergency Braking (avoids collisions whilst reversing)
- Occupant Safe Exit (warns occupants if they're opening the door into a vehicle or cyclist)
Range and Performance
The Renault Megane E-Tech Electric is now offered with a single powertrain: a 217bhp electric motor combined with a 60kWh battery. This setup delivers strong all-round performance, with instant torque providing smooth and responsive acceleration. It can go from 0 to 62mph in just 7.4 seconds, making it well suited to both town and motorway driving.
The official WLTP range is up to 285 miles, making it a practical choice for both daily commuting and longer weekend journeys. Drivers will appreciate the smooth and quiet nature of the power delivery, which contributes to a relaxing experience behind the wheel.
On the road, the Megane E-Tech Electric offers a composed and agile drive. The steering feels precise, and the low centre of gravity helps the car stay stable through bends. It feels light on its feet without sacrificing refinement, which adds to its appeal as a well-rounded electric car for everyday use.
Charging
The Megane E-Tech Electric is compatible with all AC charging infrastructure, which is essentially anything from your regular household 3-pin socket through to public charging stations.
Using a 7.4kW wallbox home charger, you can recover up to 248 miles of range in just six and a half hours. If you're on the move, then you can recover up to 124 miles of range in one hour using a 22kW public charging station.
All versions of the Megane E-Tech Electric now support DC charging. With 130kW DC rapid charging, you can recover up to 186 miles of range in around 30 minutes. If you're doing motorway speeds, then you can expect up to 124 miles of range in the same period of time.
