Design and Practicality
Aiming at creating a modern and distinctive look, certain features of the all-new Renault 4 received a facelift. The front grille that previously had round headlights was replaced by a narrower model and the headlights were placed inside the frame, enhancing the vehicle’s overall design.
Looking at the back end you’ll find the new three-part rear lights that were developed to combine style with the new LED technology. Among the newly designed details, the rear quarter panel window retains the original design which provides a sense of heritage and uniqueness to the vehicle.
Spacious on the inside, the Renault 4 has plenty of storage space. Besides the boot capacity of 420 litres that can be extended to 1,405 litres with the rear seats folded down, the wide opening and low entry threshold facilitate loading the vehicle which is extremely convenient combined with the hands-free motorised tailgate technology that comes as standard.
Technology and Safety
You’ll be well served with the cabin technology available on this vehicle. With two 10-inch touchscreen OpenR multimedia system, the infotainment was designed to be adaptative and fully customisable to create a personalised experience to those on-board.
Google comes built in within the infotainment and is compatible with the voice control available with Google Assistant. You can have access to over 50 apps via Google Play including Waze and Amazon Music.
It’s now possible to control your 4 remotely by downloading the My Renault app. There are a number of features available to be managed via your smartphone. Some of which include adjusting the cabin's temperature, locating where you parked your car by using maps, and trigger an audible and visual sign to help you find it outside.
Engines and Performance
The new Renault 4 is all electric, and all models have a single motor ranging between 118bhp and 147bhp of power.
Even though the 0 to 62mph acceleration time hasn’t been revealed yet, the estimated time the 118bhp version achieves 0 to 62mph is 9.5 seconds.
The battery pack ranges from 40kWh to 52kWh which provide a range of up to 248 miles.
Charging
Charging your new 4 is an easy task. Installing a dedicated wallbox or a standard three-pin plug in your home, could make the charging process convenient for daily use.
When topping up the juice on the go, you can use one of the several fast charging stations available throughout the UK, which charge from 15 to 80 percent in only 30 minutes.
Using the My Renault app could also save you time, as one of its features is a journey planner. You can find public charging points, schedule and monitor charging time in real life with the app.
