Founded in 2022 in China, OMODA is a sub-division of Chery International. Interestingly, OMODA branded vehicles are not sold in China, specifically marketed for Europe and other international regions instead. Like sibling brand JAECOO, OMODA are selected and adapted from Chery's range of models, already sold in the Chinese market.

OMODA only launched in August 2024 in the UK, with the first models being the OMODA 5 and OMODA E5, the latter being fully-electric. These have been joined by the larger OMODA 9 SUV.

To give you an idea of size, the OMODA 5 and E5 takes on the likes of the Nissan Qashqai, whilst the OMODA 9 competes against the BMW X3 and Range Rover Velar.
