Used Nissan NV200 for sale
The Nissan NV200 could be purchased new for a decade between 2009 and 2019. Interestingly, there was also a fully-electric e-NV200 which ran alongside from 2014, although carried on being produced after 2019 until 2022.
Competing against the Citroën Berlingo, Ford Transit Connect, Peugeot Partner and Renault Kangoo, the Nissan NV200 has its work cut out. It may seem odd that these 'smaller' vans are its competition due to the Nissan's larger looking proportions.
It therefore offers a bit more space within the load area because of its body. Other highlights are listed below.
- Refined driving experience
- Large load area
- Electric version available
- Good economy
- Compact
Economy, Towing, and Performance
The engines in the Nissan NV200 come in the form of a 1.5-litre diesel, sourced from Renault. You can find 90bhp examples, or more potent 110bhp versions.
Nissan claim they'll achieve over 55mpg, but we'd probably say expect more like 45mg in real world driving, which is still not too bad all things considered. Towing capacity sees 1,100kg with a braked trailer and 640kg unbraked.
As for performance, with 90 and 110bhp, it's not the fastest van in the world but does give the driver a good sense of refinement, which is tricky to come by, especially in older vans like this.
Bodystyles, Payload, and Capacity
As for bodystyles, you'll be able to find used examples of the Nissan NV200 as a regular panel van, along with 7-seater MPV style versions which many countries use for taxis or similar purposes. You can also find specialist NV200 vans for refrigeration purposes.
Payload of the regular panel van version is 750kg although interestingly the fully-electric e-NV200 actually offers a little bit more payload at 770kg.
As for overall capacity, the Nissan NV200 in standard Panel Van guise features a maximum load height of 1,358mm, a maximum load length of 2,040mm and finally, a maximum load width of 1,220mm.
Interior, Technology, and Safety
Interiors are straight forward and simplistic. They are very utilitarian but in a non-offensive simplistic way.
Instrument cluster dials are clear, and the overall switchgear is ergonomic and does the job. Having been around for a while, only top spec NV200 vans get infotainment screens, whilst most just get the bare minimum.
There's good space for storage, and seats fold to creating working areas - ideal if you need the van to double up as a temporary office at times.
Safety features in the range include anti-lock brakes, airbags, and an immobiliser. Again, newer vans are much more kitted out.
Is the Nissan NV200 right for me?
The Nissan NV200 had a solid decade on sale, offering more space than rivals. But as with many ageing vans, newer models came in and ended the NV200's existence.
Renault Kangoo and Peugeot Partner models may be a tad smaller, but they are just a more sorted package, whereas the Ford Transit Connect will always be a sought-after van in this sector.
