Introducing the all-new Nissan Qashqai
Since its introduction to Britain's roads in 2007, the Nissan Qashqai has been an immensely popular crossover providing fantastic all-rounder capabilities for a decent price.
Sitting in the middle of Nissan's SUV range, in-between the Juke and the X-Trail, the all-new Qashqai is a fantastic option for families; with plenty of features and comforts to deliver a pleasant journey for all occupants.
The third generation, all-new Qashqai builds on the success of its predecessors, yet delivers more modern and muscular design features, advanced technology equipment and electrified powertrains.
Design and Practicality
Easily recognisable as a Qashqai, the all-new third generation has received enhancements to its exterior design to create a more muscular, sharp and modern overall aesthetic.
Imposing 20-inch alloy wheels ensure a purposeful and prominent stance, whilst the extended wheelbase and marginal increase in height deliver improved presence on the road and a more spacious interior.
Practicality is better than ever, thanks to a powered hands-free tailgate providing easy access to the boot, which boasts a luggage capacity of 504 litres, 50 litres more than the previous generation.
With the ability of opening to 85 degrees, the rear doors will make it easier for parents to assist their children in and out of child seats, making this crossover even more appealing to families.
Technology and Safety
Obviously the modern enhancements to the all-new Qashqai don't stop once you step inside the vehicle. An advanced infotainment system boasting connected services, effortless smartphone integration and in-car Wi-Fi access for up to seven devices improves every journey, making them more enjoyable.
An innovative 10.8-inch Head-Up Display projects key information onto the windscreen, within the driver's line of vision, to aid the driver without being a distraction.
Drivers can feel safer and more confident on the road, thanks to advanced Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies such as Intelligent Emergency Braking, Intelligent Forward Collision, Intelligent Lane Intervention and Rear Automatic Braking with Pedestrian Detection.
Engines and Performance
First of all, there's the choice between a 136bhp or a 154bhp 1.3-litre petrol engine, featuring a 12V mild hybrid (MHEV) system. This intelligent MHEV system provides torque assist, extended idle stop, quick restart and coasting stop (Xtronic only). Furthermore, it improves fuel economy and reduces CO2 emissions.
Nissan have introduced their innovative e-POWER drive system to Europe with the all-new Qashqai. Range anxiety is no issue with this self-charging hybrid, which combines a 152bhp petrol engine with a 140kW electric motor and a high-output battery; the e-POWER system delivers all the joys of driving a fully-electric vehicle without the need for charging.
The petrol engine with MHEV technology can be chosen as a 2-wheel drive with either a 6-speed manual or the Xtronic automatic transmission. If you're going for the Xtronic transmission you also have the option of choosing 4-wheel drive. The e-POWER version is only available in 2WD.
