As one of the market leaders in electrified vehicle technology, Hyundai have a lot to offer when it comes to Hybrid and Electric vehicles. They've now taken all of this knowledge and expertise and applied it to their compact SUV offering, the Hyundai Kona.

Kona Hybrid

Delivering all the benefits of a conventional car but with improved fuel economy and lower emissions, the Kona Hybrid combines style and practicality with cutting edge technology.

This is a full hybrid car, which means it combines a petrol engine with an electric motor and battery pack to use fuel in the most efficient way. At low speeds and in traffic, the electric motor will power the car on its own. When you need to accelerate quickly and at higher speeds, the motor and the petrol engine will work together to maintain speed and reduce fuel economy.

There's no plugging in with the Kona Hybrid, and the automatic gearbox makes it simple and enjoyable to drive. Just fuel it up and go, like a normal car.

Kona Electric

The fully electric Kona is one of the most convincing all-round electric cars you can buy. It has a WLTP-approved driving range of up to 278 miles, which for many people will get them through a week's worth of driving on just a single charge.

It's the fastest-accelerating Kona too, with 0-62mph taking just 7.9 seconds. Electric motors can instantly deliver 100% of their torque to the driven wheels, for a surprisingly exhilarating driving experience.

When it's time to charge, a rapid-charger will get the Kona juiced up in around 75 minutes. Normal charging at home will take 9 hours and 35 minutes, so that's an overnight job - just like your smartphone. When you wake up it'll be ready to go!

The Hybrid and Electric versions of the Kona make a great deal of sense if you're considering an electrified vehicle for your next new car.

Hybrid versions offer better fuel economy and reduced emissions without significantly changing your driving experience, which may be appealing for those who want a more environmentally-friendly car.

Kona Electric on the other hand has the ability to shift your perceptions about what's possible with a mainstream electric car. With a range that's comparable to a normal vehicle and the ability to fully charge up overnight, this is electric driving without the fuss.
