Kia has announced new special-edition Horizon models for its EV6 and Niro EV.
Sitting alongside the existing Niro EV and EV6 line-ups, the Horizon models have a comprehensive standard equipment and are priced from £45,995 for the EV6 and £37,995 for the Niro.
The EV6 Horizon is positioned just above the entry level Air model, and below the sportier GT-Line models.
Above the standard equipment on the Air model, the Horizon adds several features including body coloured flush exterior door handles, a solar glass windscreen, dual LED headlights with adaptive driving beam and a wireless phone charger.
The EV6 Horizon is offered with a 225bhp rear-wheel drive powertrain, paired with a long-range 77.4kWh battery pack and is capable of driving up to 328 miles on a single charge.
It also offers ultra-rapid 800V charging technology, enabling the car to recharge from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes when plugged into a 350kW charger.
The Niro EV Horizon slots into the Niro EV line-up between the entry-level 2 grade and mid-level 3 grade.
Like the EV6 ‘Horizon’, it benefits from a wide variety of additional standard equipment over the entry model, including LED headlights, rear privacy glass, rain sensing front wipers and electric windows all round, as well as heated front seats and steering wheel and wireless phone charger.
Like the rest of the Kia Niro EV line-up, the Horizon model is offered with a 64.8kWh battery pack, capable of up to 285 miles on a single charge.
The Kia EV6 and Niro EV will be available in January 2024 and the two form a crucial part of Kia’s global plan of having 15 EVs on sale by 2027, and are sold in the UK alongside the Soul EV and the new EV9 7-seat SUV.
Prices correct as of 15/12/2023 and are subject to change.
