As an MPV, performance isn't the 500L's top priority as you'd expect. But what it does offer is a comfortable ride that can deal with the bumps and jolts of UK roads in a fairly easy fashion. The steering is light, making corners and bends easy to manoeuvre. Automatic and manual gearboxes are also available.

Practicality and Running Costs

The area of practicality is the 500L's strongest suit. The overall shape of the vehicle makes for a high roofline, which is much welcomed by taller occupants as it means a good amount of headroom. However, if you go for an example with the optional panoramic roof, rear headroom can decrease significantly.

The 500L offers 500 litres of boot space in its normal setup, but flattening the 60:40 rear-folding seats allows for extra space if required.

Interior, Technology, and Safety

The 500L's interior is what you'd expect from a Fiat. Rounded lines and shapes give a cosy and inviting feel once you step inside. The dashboard is simply laid out, with a 5-inch Uconnect infotainment system (which comes as standard) being mounted in the centre.
