Design and Practicality
The JAECOO 8 features a sleeker, more aerodynamic silhouette than the other models in the JAECOO line-up, which translates to the interior which is plush and very spacious. No expense has been spared with comfort, and it is ideal for those with extended families or those wanting a premium SUV in a professional executive role, with the 7-seater’s bench-style seating replaced by two captain’s chairs in the 6-seater.
For touring and long-distance adventures, it provides an extensive 738 litres of boot space with the seats up, expanding to a huge 2,021 litres with the seats folded down for added practicality.
Technology and Safety
There are two 12.3-inch screens inside, with one serving as the central infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the other for digital instruments. There is also wireless charging and heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, and a 14-speaker sound system for your listening pleasure.
Plus, the 6-seater Executive trim adds Nappa leather, and heated, ventilated and massaging rear seats, again supporting the JAECOO 8's role as professional executive transport.

Engines and Performance
The JAECOO 8 arrives as an AWD PHEV with a single powertrain option, removing any complicated choices from your buying journey. It combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine and three electric motors. One for each of the axles and another installed in the three-speed automatic gearbox to enable regenerative braking.
These combined produce 422bhp and 428lb ft of torque, giving the JAECOO 8 a 0 to 62mph sprint of 5.8 seconds, which, considering its size, is rather impressive compared to competitors. Its 34.4kWh battery pack, along with the ICE engine, offers a range of around 700 miles, with 83 miles of WLTP range available on battery power alone in mid-road conditions.
Although not designed as a performance SUV, the JAECOO 8's power setup makes sense, thanks to its competent motorway dynamics and strong all-terrain capability, including its ability to wade through up to 600mm of water.
Charging
As a plug-in hybrid, the JAECOO 8's 34.4kWh battery pack supports charging speeds of up to 40kW, delivering a top-up from 30 to 80 percent in around 20 minutes, making it practical for quick stops on longer journeys.
Whether you prefer to top up your car at home or work, AC charging provides a convenient way to keep your battery fully charged meaning you can start the day powered up with full range.
It also supports 6.6 kW V2L (vehicle-to-load) functionality, allowing you to power external devices from the battery, which is particularly useful for camping. Add that to its size and all-terrain capabilities, and the JAECOO 8 becomes an explorer's dream.
