Engine choice from launch came in 2.2-litre and 3.2-litre engine choices.

As for towing capacity, the Ranger has decent levels of grunt and depending on spec you'll be able to tow up to 3,500kg.
Bodystyles, Payload and Capacity
The Ford Ranger is available in a 'Single Cab', 'Crew Cab' and 'Double Cab'.
- Single Cab payloads are 1,182kg or 1,252kg dependent on spec/trim.
- Crew Cab payloads are between 1,142kg and 1,197kp dependent on spec/trim.
- Double Cab payloads range from 1,024kg to 1,140kp dependent on spec/trim.
In simple terms, all versions feature the same load width of 1,560mm and load depth of 511mm - whist Wildtrak editions have a slightly larger depth at 541mm.
It's the load lengths that differ due to the cab size. Therefore, two seat, two door Single Cab versions offer the longest load length at 2,317mm whilst the Crew Cab has occasional rear seats with rear doors meaning length is reduced to 1,847mm.
The most popular Double Cab is shorter still with 1,613mm, but offers five full size doors and five seats - it's the most popular seller that fits with most lifestyles.
Interior, Technology, and Safety
Despite its workhorse nature, the Ranger's interior could be mistaken for one of Ford's more family friendly SUVs. The seats offer plenty of support and comfort, while the general build quality is typical Ford and feels more than good enough for a pick-up of this nature.
Later versions are plusher still, and as standard you'll get electric heated door mirrors, air-conditioning, DAB, cruise control and Bluetooth.
Higher spec models such as the Limited feature kit including the 8.0-inch Ford Sync 3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Rear-view camera, Bi-Xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights and full leather interior.
Safety features are generous as standard, and include:
