Being a tiny bit smaller than its ATTO 3 sibling, it gives buyers more choice when looking to buy a state-of-the-art electric model from the BYD brand.
With high innovation as standard, with cell-to-body technology, the world's first mass-produced 8-in-1 electric powertrain, and a high efficiency heat pump as standard, the ATTO 2 may be compact, but it offers a standard specification to rival other more premium and larger electric SUVs.
Design and Practicality
The design of the ATTO 2 adopts the BYD family design language comprising the dragon face, along with short overhangs and flowing curves, giving this compact SUV a sophisticated and sporty look.
Sharp LED headlights are paired with neat and distinct daytime running lights, which not only look good but optimise safety. The continuous taillight featuring the Möbius ring also adds to the sleek nature of the car too.
And, being an SUV, the practicality is also excellent. Despite sitting under its ATTO 3 sibling in terms of size, there is still a large 400-litre boot, which is further increased to 1,340 litres when the rear seats are folded.
Interior, Technology, and Safety
BYD vehicles are cutting-edge and provide some of the most advanced battery and electric technology available, so it's no surprise to see the ATTO 2 full of tech.
The interior features a central and smart rotatable screen, which seamlessly integrates the all-important digital apps and settings to ensure the ATTO 2 can stay connected your life effortlessly, with 4G connection, and the likes of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay coming as standard. There's also intelligent voice control and Over-The-Air updates available to ensure the ATTO 2 never feels out of date.

Engines and Performance
Being fully-electric, the ATTO 2 uses BYD's industry-leading e-Platform 3.0 and integrates its impressive Blade Battery into the 2's chassis. There's also a world first in the car, in the shape of the electric powertrain, which is the world's first mass-produced 8-in-1 variant, giving the ATTO 2 a smooth and linear power delivery, which is effortless in its execution, for a relaxing and smooth drive.
Then there's the 45.1kWh rated capacity battery, powering a 174bhp front-mounted electric motor. This ensures brisk performance that allows the ATTO 2 to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 7.9 seconds, whilst offering a range of up to 194 miles.
Charging
ATTO 2 comes with the possibility of rapid charging for swift power-ups.
This means 65kW DC fast charging is supported, taking the battery from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 28 minutes, meaning topping up range for commuting or road trips is fast and convenient.
