Introducing the Renault Master E-Tech
The all-new Renault Master E-Tech is a large electric van built for businesses that can't afford to compromise. The E-Tech is the Electric variant of the Renault Master, It is based on the same platform and shares the capabilities and practicality you would expect from Renault Vans.
The Master E-Tech delivers a payload that rivals diesel alternatives and the freedom to operate in Clean Air Zones without surcharge. For last-mile logistics operators, utility fleets and local authority services making the move to zero emissions, it sets a new benchmark.
Sometimes, it's the small details that count the most: the Master E-Tech's sliding side door is the widest in its class — that can be really handy when you're trying to slide a loaded pallet trolley through it at the fifth delivery stop of the morning.
Range and Performance
The flagship Master E-Tech pairs a 105kW (138bhp) electric motor with an 87kWh battery to achieve up to 285 miles of WLTP range. A smaller 40kWh variant with a 96kW motor is also offered for operators with shorter, regular daily routes. Both motors produce 221lb ft of torque from rest, giving the Master E-Tech the smooth, responsive pull that makes city driving and heavy-load acceleration effortless.
Renault designed the van's exterior in a wind tunnel, resulting in a drag coefficient more than 20 percent lower than the previous generation — and that aerodynamic input directly boosts the 285-mile WLTP range that gets a working fleet through a full day without charge anxiety. Payload capacity is where the Master E-Tech really pulls ahead of the competition.
Key figures at a glance:
- 3.5-tonne GVW version: up to 1,125 kg maximum payload
- 4.0-tonne GVW version: up to 1,625 kg maximum payload — class-leading for a large electric van
- Towing capacity: up to 2.5 tonnes with the 87 kWh battery
- 4.0-tonne GVW models can be driven on a standard car licence under current EV regulations
- Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) allows tools, refrigeration units and equipment to run directly from the battery.
Charging
The Master E-Tech comes with a 22kW AC onboard charger as standard — faster than several key rivals — meaning a full charge from 10 to 80 percent takes under four hours on a three-phase depot wallbox. For businesses that need faster turnaround, DC rapid charging at up to 130kW adds 157 miles of range in just 30 minutes — roughly enough to complete an entire afternoon's delivery schedule loaded from scratch at lunchtime.
The MyRenault app and the built-in openR link multimedia system allow drivers and fleet managers to schedule charging, monitor battery status remotely and pre-condition the cab before the first job of the day. Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capability means the Master E-Tech can also feed energy back to the grid when parked — a feature some energy contracts are beginning to reward.
