Design and Practicality
The Geely EX5 makes a quietly confident first impression, with understated styling and undeniable road presence. Up front, the sleek front profile catches the eye, but not the airflow, thanks to super-slim adaptive LED headlights, a short overhang and seamlessly integrated door handles. Those headlights illuminate up to 177 metres ahead, while 290 LEDs create a distinctive light signature at the rear, ensuring you can always be seen (and admired).
Step inside, and it's clear no space has been wasted. The designers have created 33 storage compartments, including artfully concealed lockers, to help even the messiest of kids stay organised. A distinctive oblong steering wheel and supportive seats, trimmed in Geeluxe faux leather, add a sense of refinement, with sustainable materials used throughout the cabin.
Rear passengers are well looked after too. Generous legroom and headroom make longer journeys a pleasure, even if you have a budding six-foot-plus basketball star in the family. In the boot, 461 litres expands to a cavernous 1,877 litres with the rear seats folded. Problem loads? No problem.
Technology and Safety
The Geely EX5 feels immediately at home on UK roads, delivering a comfortable and flowing drive that handles uneven surfaces effortlessly while remaining sure-footed on tight bends.
All trim levels are powered by a single-mounted electric motor producing 160kW (around 215 to 218bhp), enabling the Max to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in a fleeting 6.9 seconds. Whether you're heading for the hills or the shops, performance is smooth and responsive.
Better still, the EX5 is also the first model to feature Geely's next-generation Short Blade battery technology, developed across the group's brands. Depending on the model, the EX5 offers a range of up to 267 miles on a full charge, helping to make range anxiety a thing of the past.
Charging
Offering a range of flexible charging solutions, electric car ownership is about as convenient as it gets with the EX5.
If you're in a hurry, the EX5 supports rapid charging from 30 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes. Simply park up at your chosen public charging station, plug-in, and leave it to do its thing while you have a well-earned break.
For everyday use, a range of home charging solutions is available, allowing you to recharge every night and start each day fully powered. When using a 7kW AC charger, expect a 10 to 100 percent charge in just over six hours.
