Evans Halshaw Ford Bedford Helps Set New Guinness World Record

01st Oct 2025

Congratulations to our team at Evans Halshaw Ford Bedford Transit Centre, who have played their part in setting a brand-new Guinness World Record. Earlier this month, they joined a convoy of 201 vehicles to mark the 60th anniversary of the iconic Ford Transit.

The record was achieved on 20 September, when Ford gathered businesses and enthusiasts from across the UK to form the Largest Parade of Vans. The convoy set off from Ford’s Dunton Technical Centre in Essex, home to the design and development of the latest Transit generations, before completing a 29-mile journey to Chelmsford City Racecourse. The event concluded with the first-ever Transit Festival, a celebration of the van’s six-decade legacy.

Evans Halshaw team members, from our dealership in Bedford, based at Pioneer Park, supplied and drove five vehicles for the parade. These included two Transit Custom PHEVs and a Transit Connect PHEV, along with a classic 2003 Transit 350 owned by one of the team’s technicians, and a 2004 Transit Tipper Dropside provided by a customer.

Behind the wheel for the record-breaking drive were:

  • Lukas Vaisvila, Divisional Marketing Manager
  • Nick Bullamore, CV Business Manager
  • Ben Horton, Diagnostics Technician
  • Rhys Woodroffe, Vehicle Technician
  • Liam Titmus, Evans Halshaw Customer

Reflecting on the event, Lukas Vaisvila said:

“It was amazing to be part of Ford Transit’s birthday celebrations. There was a real buzz about the day, and we are honoured that Evans Halshaw Ford helped to set a new Guinness World Record™.”

Lisa Brankin, Ford UK Chair and Managing Director, added:

“The record-setting achievement is a testament to the passion inspired by Transit.”
