Evans Halshaw Opens Two New BYD Retailers in Chesterfield and Rotherham

Drivers in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire now have even more choice when it comes to electric and hybrid vehicles, as Evans Halshaw continues to grow its partnership with BYD, the world's leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles.
Two new BYD retailers officially opened their doors on 6 October 2025, one in Chesterfield, at Eastside Park opposite Chesterfield Football Club, and another in Rotherham on Aldwarke Road, Parksgate. These additions expand Evan Halshaw’s BYD network from three to five retailers nationwide, underlining the increasing demand for electric and hybrid cars among UK motorists.
At BYD Chesterfield, customers can explore the full BYD range alongside over 100 quality used cars of all makes and models. Aftersales facilities, including servicing, MOTs, and repairs, will open in November, completing the site’s full-service offering.
Meanwhile, BYD Rotherham takes over existing Evans Halshaw Ford location and continues to operate as a Ford Authorised Repairer. The dealership will showcase BYD’s innovative electric and hybrid vehicles while maintaining the trusted Ford servicing customers already know.
Among the highlights on display are the BYD Atto 2 Compact SUV, the SEAL U DM-i plug-in hybrid, and the Dolphin Surf city car, each designed to make electrified driving accessible, efficient, and enjoyable.
Rob Miller, Group Vice President of Multi Brand, said the expansion marks an important milestone for Evans Halshaw:

The chesterfield opening also brings 21 new jobs to the area, with further recruitment planned as aftersales services launch.
