Founded in 1955, Alpine took off with the launch of the original A110 in 1962, which went on to be a rally legend in the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s.

Alpine was bought by Renault in 1976. More rallying success was enjoyed before new road cars came along in the 1980s in the form of the A310 and GTA, before the early 1990s saw the birth of the A610.

The brand was discontinued in 1995, before Renault announced the rebirth in 2012, with the new Alpine A110 being unveiled in 2017 at the Geneva Motor Show.

In 2021, Renault rebranded its F1 team to Alpine, which made sense due to Alpine's racing heritage, and new A110 sports car.

Today, Alpine produces multiple versions of the excellent A110 sports car, along with the A290 electric hatchback.
