What's lost to some competitors in terms of performance, is made up for in terms of comfort. Wind and road noise is dampened, allowing for a refined driving experience. You'll find F Sport and Takumi models the most comfortable thanks to their Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) system, which deals with the undulations of the average British road with ease.

There are four (self-explanatory) driving modes to choose from on all models, designed for different scenarios; Electric Vehicle (EV), Eco, Normal and Sport. F Sport models also come with Sport S and Sport S+ modes for those seeking the highest performance from their RX.

Practicality and Running Costs

Lexus have ensured there's plenty of space inside the RX, making life easier when fitting a child seat to the rear ISOFIX mounting points. This also means that head and legroom is good for those sat in the first and second rows, but adults may find it a bit tight if sat in the additional third row in an RX L.

The rear seats can recline and slide electronically, enhancing versatility and allowing you to find a setup that suits. Boot space is slightly less than what you may find on some rivals as this is where the batteries for the hybrid system are placed. You'll get a total of 538 litres with the seats up or 1,579 litres with them folded down.
