Introducing the All-New Leapmotor B03X

The Leapmotor B03X might just be the compact electric SUV you’ve been waiting for. Expected to launch in the UK in 2026.

The premium SUV revolution isn’t coming. It’s already here. The Leapmotor B03X - called the A10 in China - is Leapmotor’s latest EV offering and is already making waves in China. It’s expected to launch in the UK in 2026.

What’s so special about the Leapmotor B03X? It’s rewriting the story of smart, premium long-range SUVs. Built as an EV from the ground up, it’s a walking (or should we say, wheeling?) contradiction: compact but spacious, premium but affordable, smart but simple.

The Leapmotor B03X might just be the compact electric SUV you’ve been waiting for. It offers the same smooth experience on long-range trips as it does around the city - and it comes in at an affordable price. Let’s see where it really shines.

Design and Practicality

The first thing you’ll notice about the Leapmotor B03X is that it doesn’t disappoint the eye. All 4,200mm of length exude power and confidence. Its impressive 2,600mm+ wheelbase doesn’t just add to its looks - it speaks to the SUVs far-reaching versatility, too.

As for the exterior, the B03X comes with all the trimmings you’d expect from a modern compact SUV. Multiple colours. Near-invisible handles. A floating roof. Plus a friendly lighting profile.

The Leapmotor B03X comes in as a B-segment SUV. But don’t let that fool you. Inside is nothing if not spacious. The interior is fully practical - perfect both for long-haul trips with the kids and quick commutes in the city!

Interior, Technology, and Safety

The whole point of the Leapmotor B03X is to change the way we think about smart tech in electric SUVs. And it doesn’t disappoint. Despite its class, the B03X provides a truly new-age driving experience, complete with a much-touted AI cockpit.

We’re not entirely sure what this means in practice yet, but we anticipate a fully digitally integrated cabin, likely with advanced infotainment, smart controls, and possibly voice or AI-assisted features.

You’ll also save yourself a lot of time (plus trips to the dealer) with the Leamotor’s “Over-the-Air (OTA) updates for life”. That’s right: the B03X’s user-facing systems (infotainment, driver assistance) will update automatically and improve over time.

Don’t forget the Leapmotor B03X is also being launched as the company’s first-ever EV-first structural design. They’re promising a range of advanced driver assistance and EV-specific crash and safety considerations for extra peace-of-mind.

Range and Performance

We don’t know everything there is to know about the Leapmotor B03X yet. But we do know the B03X is based on the same battery pack reportedly used in the larger Leapmotor B10 (≈ 67.1 kWh). This gives us a solid reference for range.

According to official info from Leapmotor, the B03X uses a high-density LFP battery and hits up to 500 km (≈ 311 miles) under China’s CLTC test cycle. Independent estimates suggest a more modest 250 mile-per-charge range. But still, that puts the B03X well within its class for range - and is more than enough for most drivers.

Driving performance likely follows this. The B03X is reported to use a rear-mounted electric motor producing around 215 bhp. In short, you’ll be able to whizz around the city and cruise on motorways with equal confidence.

Charging

The charging experience on the Leapmotor B03X makes a steady, if modest, improvement on many SUVs of its class. You can expect a solid, hassle-free charging experience - both overnight at home and on longer journeys.

Leapmotor has broken its silence on charging time. They claim the B03X can charge from 30% to 80% in just 16 minutes. This would place it firmly in the “practical” range - especially for rapid charging on long-hauls.

We’re not yet sure how long an overnight charge will take. But we do know the B03X uses the same LEAP architecture as its big brother, the B10. The B10 can charge fully in as little as 6 hours. So, we can expect a dependable at-home charging experience from the B03X.
