Introducing the new DS N°8
The first DS model to be 100 percent solely electric.
Introducing the DS N°8, a stylish showcase of fine innovation, state-of-the-art technology, exceptional refinement and deluxe comfort. DS N°8 is here to take centre stage as DS Automobile's new flagship model.
An SUV Coupé shape, DS N°8 boasts a 466-mile range, making it one of the most capable models in its class, along with a cockpit which redefines standards for comfort, not to mention multiple power options and the possibility of all-wheel drive, this range-topping flagship will be available from mid-2025.
Discover its fine style, technology and drivetrain choice in more detail below.
Design and Practicality
Inspired by DS' 'Aero Sport Lounge' concept car which came along in 2020, the N°8 is the first model to adopt the new 'N°' naming strategy, representing the standard way of writing 'number' in French, embodying timelessness and elegance.
With this in mind, the design focuses on aero-efficiency, with taut and tapered lines with each part of the body scrutinised in a wind tunnel.
There's also the new DS LUMINASCREEN illuminate grille, with the DS logo illuminated for the first time on a production model, along with extended duotone paintwork to emphasise the car's design and sophistication.
Finally, the available 21-inch forged wheels give the car a significant and unique stance, whilst the large rectangular boot offers up to 620 litres of space.
Technology and Safety
A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster is joined by a generously sized 16-inch neatly integrated central display, which allows acces to the DS IRIS SYSTEM 2.0, which can be controlled by speech recognition.
It embodies the sleek and stylish nature the DS N°8 perfectly blends, whilst the panoramic glass roof metaphorically joins the outside to the inside.
Safety also forms part of the technology on offer with DS NIGHT VISION improving night driving, whilst DS N°8 is also equipped with a dual-view digital rearview mirror, for a completely unobstructed field of vision.
DS PIXELVISION also incorporates adaptive light, swivelling main beam, cornering light and non-dazzling main beam, again enhancing safety and driver comfort. Other safety technology includes:
- Drive Assist 2.0 (Semi-autonomous driving)
- Active Lane Change Assist
- Parking Sensors and Vision 360
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
- Wrong Pedal Prevention
Engines and Performance
Being DS' very first model to be made solely as an electric model, a choice of three electric drivetrains are available. These consist of a 233bhp, 248bhp and 355bhp version. The range-topping 355bhp model also features two electric motors, rather than just one, along with all-wheel drive, too.
There's also a choice of two batteries, a 74 kWh with 233bhp variants, or a 97.2 kWh version available with the 248bhp and 355bhp versions.
Performance across the range is brisk, with the range-topping all-wheel drive 355bhp delivering 0 to 62mph in just 5.4 seconds, whilst the other pair take 7.7 seconds (248bhp) and 7.8 seconds (233bhp).
And all this with a 466-mile range, too.
Charging
Various charging methods will be available for the DS N°8, with rapid charging being the quickest way to charge.
A 20 percent to 80 percent charge can be undertaken in just 27 minutes when using a 200kW charger, whilst wall box times from 7.4kW to 11kW to 22kW can take 9 hours 5 minutes, to 6 hours 10 minutes to 3 hours 20 minutes respectively.
