Best Used Executive Cars Under £10,000

Executive Value
£10,000 is not a massive amount of money in today's society, but thanks to a thing called depreciation, you can still get you behind the wheel of some quality cars which were once some of the most desirable executive chariots on the road.
Of course, they will not be the latest versions or the lowest mileage examples, but this somewhat conservative sum of money can open up a realm of possibilities if you are after a used executive car which looks more than its price tag suggests.
This class of car also has to tick a number of boxes. The executive nature is the most obvious, so these cars will usually have a sought-after badge, a few nice options, luxury features and also be comfortable on the move. Come the weekend, they should also be able to do the family duties without breaking sweat, too. And let's not forget they should be able to devour miles with ease.
Read on below to discover some of our favourite used executive cars.
BMW 3 Series
We start with the textbook answer for executive cars in the form of the renown BMW 3 Series. Perhaps BMW's most recognised model, the 3 Series does everything so well. Offering smart executive styling, high levels of luxury, plenty of practicality and a wide range of engine choices, the 3 Series sets the standard.
And with each new generation, the 3 Series pushes the envelope further. The good thing about this is that used examples of older generation models become even more appealing and available for under the £10,000 mark. For this amount you are sure to find a nice example between 2004 and 2016. And best of all, each 3 Series is superb to drive too.
Depending on your needs, the 3 Series can be had in the popular 4-door Saloon model or even a stylish Coupé. There is also a Cabriolet and a more practical Touring, although the Coupés and Saloons will be the easiest to find for under £10,000.

Just like the 3 Series mentioned previously, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is another textbook answer in the executive car sector; the Germans are indeed very good at making decent executive cars. For generations, the C-Class has offered high levels of class and luxury, with typical Mercedes-Benz quality and comfort.
Popular in the 4-door Saloon, the C-Class is also available in Coupé, Convertible and Estate versions with plenty of sought-after specifications and engine choices. For the £10,000 sum, you can still find decent examples with plenty of toys.
If you have ever been to a number of major cities in Europe, especially in Germany, the C-Class is a very popular taxi as they are renown for their quality, comfort and their ability to devour mileage with great ease.
Search Used Mercedes-Benz C-ClassVolkswagen Passat
Another German brand makes our list, but the VW Passat is more of a low-key hero. The VW badge may not have as much kudos as a BMW, Mercedes-Benz or Audi, but if you have ever driven one, or any VW for that matter, you'll understand just how good VW cars are.
The Passat is no exception, with many used as taxis for their ability to cover miles with great ease, and still feel tight long after 100,000 or even 200,000 miles. They are really spacious too, and even come with a coupé-esque CC model for those wanting an even sleeker Passat.
It may not have the prestige of the other German brands, but for £10,000 you will have much more luck finding a better spec'd Passat than any of the other German examples in our list, and you're certain to find a newer model too.

A legend of motorway mile munching, the Ford Mondeo can do the day to day with ease and won't break the bank in the process. The dependable Mondeo is like a Golden Retriever, it's reliable and loyal.
The Mondeo is a more affordable executive car, meaning you can certainly find more for your money when comparing to a Mercedes-Benz, BMW or Audi of the same vintage. With a Mondeo, you should have no trouble finding a later model with a better spec, that's for sure.
The Mondeo is excellent to drive too, comes with acres of space and will deliver high mpg for fun. It's no wonder for generations the Mondeo was such a success, even today it's still very much a great car, offering a lot, for not a lot of money. Over the years it has certainly become a lot more attractive too.

We can't mention the Ford Mondeo, without mentioning the Vauxhall Insignia. The Mondeo name may have a longer legacy, but the Insignia foundations were set by the Cavalier and Vectra, which like the Insignia, have gone wheel-to-wheel with the Ford.
The Insignia offers huge amounts of space, practicality and bang for you buck. It also has the ability to be an excellent work horse. With lots of Insignias falling under the £10,000 mark, you can find high-spec VX-Line models featuring desirable toys such as sat-nav, front and rear parking sensors, auto lights and sportier exterior features, complemented by smart 17-inch alloy wheels.
A number of decent engine choices are available too; the 2.0-litre diesel is rather punchy and can return very good economy. Ironically, some models of Insignia are actually built in Germany by sister company Opel.
Search Used Vauxhall InsigniaAudi A4
Surprise surprise, another German executive car, this time in the form of the Audi A4. They are rather good though, and it just goes to show the rise of the many German brands who have been aggressive with their multiple offerings in recent generations.
Audi are famous for producing cars with nice interiors, and the A4 is a typical example and makes for a decent place to spend time. Everything has a high-quality feel with soft touch materials and fine details.
As with many of the German cars in our list, more desirable specifications will cost that little bit more, so if you want a high specification for your money, or a newer generation, then the Ford and Vauxhall will be better bets. That said, if you are willing to pay the full £10,000 or even that little bit extra, the Audi A4 will impress for sure.
