A striking mid-life makeover is being given to the Vauxhall Corsa as the top-seller gets new looks, more equipment and added technology.
Restyled with the streamlined Vauxhall Vizor grill at the front, the latest model also gets an upgraded battery for electric versions, which increases range.
Other updates include bigger display screens inside, new matrix lights and wireless phone charging with over-the-air updates.
The changes for the Corsa Electric sees the introduction of a 51kWh battery and motor that produces 154bhp, giving the car a range of up to 255 miles on a full charge – a 15 percent improvement.
The existing 134bhp electric powertrain remains available, with a range up to 222 miles between charges.
Mild-hybrid 48-volt powertrains are also being introduced, while the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged models will remain with power outputs of 98 and 128bhp as well as a naturally aspirated 74bhp version.
Inside, the new Corsa features an upgraded infotainment system with Vauxhall’s latest-generation user interface.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Cockpit Platform, which utilises Artificial Intelligence, the interior sees the touchscreen upgraded to a 10-inch model, while the 7-inch driver instrument digital display has new graphics.
The ‘Hey Vauxhall’ voice control system first launched on the new Astra is also being introduced, as is a 3D navigation display.
There’s a new steering wheel and changes to the gear lever, as well as a new high-resolution panoramic rearview camera.
Safety systems include adaptive cruise control and speed limiter, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
Prices for the latest models are expected to be announced during the summer, which can be expected to show slight increases over the current cars.
Deliveries are scheduled to start towards the end of the year.
