Design and Practicality
The new DS 7 has been given a minor facelift, which retains the class and elegance of the original, whilst perfectly evolving.
An updated front features sharper lines, whilst the new DS 7's light signature is enhanced by DS PIXEL LED VISION 3.0 and DS LIGHT VEIL to ensure an even more impressive look. Slimmer rear LED lights are used with a vortex effect and a dark metallic finish.
19-inch alloy wheels are used as standard, whilst 21-inch wheels are also available to give an even greater amplification of size for this already large SUV.
Inside, practicality is as expected with plenty of space and a large boot that offers 555 litres of space, perfect for swallowing luggage with ease. With leather upholstery used throughout, both driver and passengers will also benefit from a comfortable and luxurious journey.
Technology and Safety
Cutting-edge technology is not lacking with the DS 7. This clever SUV features DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION which can assess road imperfections via the use of a camera and therefore make the suspension harder or softer, ensuring complete comfort.
DS DRIVER ATTENTION MONITORING and DS DRIVE ASSIST help ensure safety is kept in check whilst behind the wheel of the DS 7. This is also complemented by 360 degree vision, using a collection of high definition cameras around the car's exterior.
The DS 7 also features a large panoramic sunroof, and optional laminated glass to enhance sound proofing whilst you drive, making your journey as relaxing as possible.
Powertrains and Performance
The DS 7 is available with a 1.5-litre BlueHDi diesel engine and an automatic gearbox, whilst the DS 7 E-TENSE version comes with three different 1.6-litre plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain options.
These PHEV options, allow the driver to keep the familiarity and convenience that traditional fuel gives, with the added benefits of a fully-electric drive for up to 40 miles.
These powertrains offer a combined power between 222bhp and 355bhp, as well as being able to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in as low as 5.6 seconds, which is excellent for a large SUV.
The E-TENSE models return between 178 to 250mpg depending on the model, and whilst driving style, road conditions, and use of heat and air conditioning can affect this figure, it's still very impressive for an SUV.
Charging
The DS 7 comes with an accelerated charging cable as standard and by using this cable, all three of the E-TENSE models can be fully charged in under 2 hours.
You can also charge the DS 7 through domestic charging points with a standard 3-pin plug, which will take about 7 hours to charge. As these are PHEV powertrains though, if you forgot to charge up overnight and don't have time during the day to use the accelerated charging cable, you'll still have petrol power you can use.
You can either have a home charging point installed or make use of one of the many charging points in the UK so that charging your DS 7 a stress-free experience.
