Design and Practicality
The first thing that jumps out about the Jeep Compass is its build. The SUV isn’t the largest of its kind - it comes in at about 4.55m long and about 1.65m tall - but the classic Jeep blockiness gives it a stance of unmatched power.
Jeep has upgraded the seven-slot grille for a bolder, more aerodynamic layout. The trapezoidal wheel arches look fantastic but they also hint at the SUV’s off-road capability - but more on that later.
Inside, it’s pure luxury. Increased rear legroom. A massive 550-litre boot. Front cabin storage. Plus a generous 16” central touchscreen. Everything about this vehicle is designed for user-friendliness and space efficiency.
The Jeep Compass feels large - much larger than it actually is. Jeep has somehow pulled of an SUV that manages to retain its edgy power and off-road capability while also welcoming everyday drivers and family passengers.

Interior, Technology, and Safety
Jeep never takes safety for granted. The Jeep Compass is packed with driver-assist and safety technologies designed to keep you safe and confident on all roads at all times of the year. Wherever your journey takes you, relax knowing you’re in safe hands.
There are multiple, active safety systems in place in the Jeep Compass. That includes forward collision warning with active braking, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane management, intelligent speed assist, and a 360° camera - in short, everything you’d expect from a new-age Jeep SUV.
But the tech doesn’t end there. There are a bunch of exciting extras, too. Connectivity is particularly powerful. The next-generation Uconnect 5 system powers the Compass’s multimedia and connectivity experience with faster operation and more intuitive controls. And don’t forget about the full wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
All this adds up to one thing: a classic Jeep feel with the latest safety specs you’ll find in any SUV anywhere in the world.

Range and Performance
Range varies a little from model to model - even though performance remains consistently (and typically-Jeeplike) throughout. Let’s explore both the e-hybrid and the electric variants:
Unlike a plug-in hybrid or full EV, the e-Hybrid is a mild hybrid that does not plug in. Instead it uses a 48 V electrified system to assist the petrol engine. This gives you about 130 hp total system output to play with. Expect 0-60 mph acceleration in the 10-second category.
The electric Jeep Compass competes well. The current configuration is a Standard BEV front-wheel drive with a 74 kWh battery. This should give you 300+ miles of smooth driving - an absolutely stellar offering in today’s electric SUV market, no question.
Future configurations include a long-range FWD with a 98 kWh battery - and a 403-mile range! Though we’re still waiting for more details.
On all Jeep Compass variants, the driving is typically Jeep: smooth, effortless, powerful.

Charging
Enjoy a solid charging time on the Jeep Compass full-electric - one that shouldn’t slow you down or get in the way of longer drives. It’s not as fast as some other smaller electric SUVs. But you get more power, so it’s a good trade-off.
The Compass uses a Type 2 AC inlet and you can fully charge the 74 kWh battery in about 8 hours at 11 kWs. Ideal for overnight charging.
On the road, results may differ. However, with most rapid charging ports offering ~160 kW DC, you can expect to charge from ~10 % to ~80 % in about ~35-40 minutes. Not bad by any means!
