More Details Revealed for the Hyundai KONA: Prices and Specifications

Hyundai has announced pricing and specification for its new KONA range.

The second-generation KONA will be available as an electric model, hybrid, and petrol only vehicle with prices starting from £25,725.

Compared to the previous generation KONA, the new model has increased dimensions. Based on the EV variant, its length is now 4,350mm, 145mm longer than the previous generation launched in 2017, with a wheelbase of 2,660mm, which is 60mm longer. Its width is 1,825mm, which is 25mm wider, and the height is 20mm taller at 1,575mm.

Among the upgrades are dual 12.3-inch panoramic display screens, full Over-the-Air updates and Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC).

Fitted as standard across the range is a standard navigation and infotainment system comprising a 12.3-inch screen, Bluetooth, DAB radio, LIVE services, MapCare, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, steering wheel controls and front and rear USB-C charging points.

The new KONA comes with Hyundai’s SmartSense Advanced Driver Assistance System and safety systems and all trim levels include a suite of safety systems including downhill brake control, driver attention warning, e-call, forward collision avoidance assist with car, pedestrian, cycle and junction turning functions, hill-start assist control, intelligent speed limit assist, lane keep assist, lane follow assist and leading vehicle departure alert.

Optional trim levels also see the additions of blind spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist, parking distance warning with a side function, parking collision avoidance assist, safe exit warning and surround view monitor.

The KONA is available in four trim levels with Advance, Ultimate and N Line and N Line S specifications with prices topping out at £34,225 for 1.6-litre hybrid models.

Details of the electric range will be released early this summer.

Boot capacity on the petrol and hybrid models ranges from 466 to 1,300 litres.

The petrol engined versions will be powered either by 1.0-litre or 1.6-litre turbo engines with power outputs ranging from 118bhp to 195bhp mated to 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT transmissions while the hybrids are fitted with a 1.6-litre powertrain developing 139bhp.

Fuel economy figures are still to be announced, and the new KONA will be available in the next few months.
