Introducing the new Citroën C5 Aircross
A new design language, complemented by a more muscular and striking appearance, the new Citroën C5 Aircross may be all new, but it still features the sought-after space and practicality that has seen the model build its success upon.
It presents a fine evolution of the generation that came before, with the C5 Aircross first launched in 2017.
This brand-new version looks to continue the car's popularity, and with it introduces multiple versions, including a plug-in hybrid and fully-electric ë-C5 Aircross.
Design and Practicality
Featuring a new, powerful, and assertive design, the new C5 Aircross also ensures fine aerodynamics to improve efficiency.
It's not just a pretty face, then, and features smart and sophisticated design details to ensure a smart and striking overall SUV design.
Design highlights include the Citroën Light Wings, which were unveiled with the concept of this car, giving a sleek and striking 3-point light signature, further showcasing the car's sophistication and design sleekness.
As for practicality, immense space is offered within the cabin, along with a generous boot space, which is identical no matter the model of C5 Aircross chosen, resulting in 650 litres of space.
Interior, Technology, and Safety
The new Citroën C5 Aircross is billed as a living room on wheels, connected to the world. Therefore, smartphone integration is completely seamless and is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; you can even connect two smartphones simultaneously via Bluetooth.
ChatGPT is also built into the infotainment system, enhancing voice control, along with onboard comfort, meaning the setup acts as a digital assistant, making everyday life easier thanks to this AI feature.
Extended Head-Up Display, Citroën Matrix LED headlamps, VisioPark or VisioPark 360°, driver surveillance camera, Rear Traffic Alert, and semi-automatic lane changing all enhance the C5 Aircross' overall safety credentials.
Engines and Performance
There is plenty of engine choice in the new C5 Aircross, along with electrification complementing choices too.
A self-charging 1.2-litre turbo engine with 136bhp is joined by a 12bhp permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. The battery for this recharges automatically during decleration.
There's also a plug-in hybrid available with a 150bhp 4-cylinder 1.6-litre turbo engine and 125bhp electric motor.
The cutting-edge hybrid technology means that the new Citroën C5 Aircross can offer a total range of over 400 miles, or between 53 and 62 miles of electric range, depending on whether you're using the car in town or further afield.
Charging
For the plug-in hybrid version of the C5 Aircross, users will likely not need to recharge their battery every day. And when they do, recharging is quick with zero to one hundred percent of charge in just 2 hours and 55 minutes when using a 7.4 kW on board charger.
Standard charging, using the 3.7 kW charger, takes 5 hours and 15 minutes.
