The new Renault Scenic E-Tech all-electric MPV will be on the road in May 2024 and will be priced from £40,995.

Powered by a 87kWh battery and a 217bhp motor, it will be capable of delivering a 379-mile range.

With a wheelbase of 2.78 metres, the new Scenic measures 4.47 metres long and will feature an opacifying glass roof and an ingenious rear armrest which includes storage for devices, screen stands and cupholders.

Its OpenR Link multimedia system features more than 50 apps and is powered by Google services and accessed through a 12.3-inch driver information display on the dashboard and a 12-inch vertical central screen.

The three-model range, comprising Techno, Esprit Alpine and Iconic trims, with all versions having a flat floor and high-tech lighting systems with distinctive patterns front and rear.

The roof can be switched in four ways to give different levels of light in various areas, and makes Renault the first mass-market car manufacturer to offer a panoramic roof that can be either fully or partially opacified in segments.

Storage space sees the Scenic with 38.7 litres of room onboard, while the boot runs from 545 litres to a maximum of 1,670 litres.

Rear seat passengers have an armrest with two swivelling arms, 3.6 litres of storage for smartphones and tablets, fold-out stands to watch screens comfortably, two cupholders and two USB-C ports while a concealed trap door allows long items to be carried without folding down the rear seat by providing access to the boot.

All versions have the same performance figures, with the motor developing 217bhp, giving the car a 0 to 62mph acceleration time of 8.4 seconds and a top speed of 105.6mph.

Following on from the entry-level Techno grade Scenic are Esprit Alpine models priced from £43,495 with the range topping Cconic version - which includes the panoramic sunroof - costing from £45,495.
