A 7-seat crossover is being introduced by budget brand Dacia and will be priced from £14,995.

The Romanian brand says the new Jogger is a blend of estate car with MPV roominess and SUV styling.

It will be powered by a new 1.0-litre TCe 110 petrol engine, and the line-up will be expanded next year to include a hybrid version.

A 6-speed manual transmission is standard, although an automatic version will be arriving with the hybrid.

Performance figures for the TCe 110 are 0 to 62mph acceleration in 11.2 seconds, a top speed of 114mph with a fuel return ranging from 47.1mpg to 49.6mpg. Emissions are rated at 132g/km.

Three trim levels will be available, with the range starting with Essential models which include air conditioning, cruise control and rear parking sensors as standard.

Comfort grade Joggers are priced from £16,595 and the range tops out in Extreme SE trim which comes in from £17,395.

All versions also come with a 3.5-inch TFT instrument panel display, while Comfort trim includes modular roof rails, interior trim upgrades and an eight-inch display screen that's smartphone compatible.

Extreme SE versions include heated front seats and sat nav as standard.

The Jogger is 4.54 metres long, which is similar to that of a Ford Focus estate.

Cargo capacity ranges from 160 litres with all seven seats in use, to a maximum of 2,085 litres with the rearmost seats removed and the second row folded flat.

Interior storage includes a 7.0-litre sized glovebox, door pockets that hold a 1.0-litre bottle, six cupholders and a 1.3-litre centre console.
