Slowly but surely, the market for electric cars is on the rise and new Kia cars are emerging with this concept in mind. The increasingly popular market for SUV cars is considerable too for Kia as they launch their first all-electric crossover utility vehicle - the Kia e-Niro. The all-new model is expected to appear as a solid contender in the segment next to its sister brand's entry - the all-electric Hyundai Kona.
The 5-seater SUV crossover has a number of attractive benefits including state-of-the-art driver assistance technology, maximum practicality, all with a forward-thinking electric motor which is cost-efficient and environmentally-friendly. The best electric cars are set to hit the market within the next 40 years and as well as the e-Niro, Kia have plenty of electric concepts up their sleeve.
The all-new Kia e-Niro holds an impressive 64kWh battery with a 150kW(204bhp) all-electric motor driving the front wheels. In addition, there will be an entry level e-Niro, available with 134bhp and a 39kWh battery. The e-Niro’s 395 Nm torque is incredible, allowing the new e-Niro the ability to reach 0-62 mph in just 7.8 seconds – wow!
Better yet, Kia have confirmed a remarkable 301-mile range for the e-Niro with a capable 382-mile range on the WLTP ‘urban’ test cycle, reaching more than most fuelled engines! You can charge the e-Niro back up hassle-free too, with its super-speedy 100kW fast charger, providing an 80% battery in just 54 minutes of charge.
The Kia e-Niro is set to compete in the ever-growing crossover SUV segment, but boasting a forward-thinking fully electric edge.
To look at, the Kia e-Niro mirrors the hybrid Niro – a popular stylish yet practical family car. The e-Niro’s fully electric engine is an upgraded version, offering zero-emissions and all the latest technology including regenerative braking, Coasting Guide Control (CGC), and Predictive Energy Control (PEC).
This spacious family car provides enough room inside for four adults and a generous boot size, offering 451 litres for all your luggage. Of course, you can expect advanced yet practical technology at your fingertips including a linked-up navigation system that can assess your route and advise when to decrease acceleration to maximise the electric range accordingly.
You’ll look the part in your Kia e-Niro with the backlit perforated leather trim amongst all your favourite Niro interior styling. The e-Niro however will boast Kia’s new HMI infotainment system, including super-advanced face and voice recognition technology.
You can finally experience Kia’s first fully electric crossover SUV, with a competitive electric ability and great style – all with Kia’s prized 7-year manufacturer warranty.
