A Strong Partnership

Dutch truck manufacturer DAF has partnered with VDL Groep in order to create state-of-the-art electric trucks. The trucks themselves will be built by DAF, but then the VDL Groep will carry out the electrification of these cutting-edge vehicles.

The partnership of these two companies demonstrates a strong will to introduce an advanced series of electrified commercial vehicles, that are environmentally friendly and exceptionally quiet.

DAF CF Electric: A Green HGV

With HGVs going up and down the country daily, the introduction of a fully-electric truck would be a welcome addition to businesses and of course the environment. Therefore, the DAF CF Electric truck comprises of a 4x2 tractor unit, which is heavily based on the regular DAF CF, which happens to be the 'International Truck of the Year 2018'.

This particular electric truck uses VDL Groep advanced E-Power Technology for fully electric operation. This cutting-edge truck now uses a 210-kW electric motor powertrain, which consumes its energy from a 170-kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

This ensures the DAF CF electric truck has a fully electric vehicle range of 100km. Charging of the vehicle can be accomplished in 30 minutes, or as little as 90 minutes for a full charge.

Considerate Deliveries

The stereotypical HGV is not the quietest of vehicles, but the DAF electric truck is set to change this particular stereotype. This means this full-size tractor unit, along with a trailer will produce zero emissions.

The noise level is also revolutionary and is ultra-quiet, making it perfect for night-time deliveries. Contact Evans Halshaw Commercial Vehicles today for more information or to register your interest.
