The Sandero Stepway is the crossover addition to the Dacia range, which features chunky off-road styling and plenty of practicality for the whole family - at unprecedented value for money.
The go-anywhere intentions of this car are clear thanks to a raised ride height and chrome roof bars for additional storage. Larger bumpers and wheel arches also feature, alongside new front fog lights that give the stepway a modern, yet rugged appeal.
Dacia have once again kept the options straightforward with just two trims levels to choose from. Kicking off the range, the Ambience features front fog lights, a heated rear windscreen, daytime running lights and tinted windows. Interior features include electric front windows, driver and front passenger airbags, stability control, and a radio/CD system with Bluetooth and MP3 connectivity.
The top of the range Laureate trim boasts a chrome grille addition on the outside. The trim also features a variety of upmarket equipment, including full air conditioning, all-round electric windows and rear parking sensors. A comprehensive multimedia system, with 7-inch touchscreen, controls additional features like Satellite Navigation and USB input. For convenience, the Laureate also offers cruise control, heated door mirrors and trip computer.
There are two turbo engines available in the Sandero Stepway, one petrol and one diesel. The 0.9 litre TCe 90 petrol takes the Sandero Stepway to 60mph in 11.1 seconds for energetic performance. Economy is also impressive, with combined consumption of up to 55.4mpg and emissions standing at 115g/km of CO2. The turbo diesel engine comes in the form of the 1.5 dCi 90. This engine offers similar performance to the petrol variant, but with consumption of up to 74.3mpg combined and a great 98g/km of CO2 - placing it in one of the lowest tax bands available.
The Sandero Stepway remains extremely practical thanks to a raised ride height for easy access and spacious interior with room for three in the back. Space continues in the boot with a 320-litre capacity which can be extended to 1,200 litres by folding the 60:40 splitting rear seats down - making it big enough for just about anything you can throw at it.
All-in-all the Dacia Sandero Stepway is a spacious and stylish crossover with chunky SUV features - for supermini prices.
