Are you ready to get into the Christmas spirit? We have selected four events around the UK that are bound to get you excited for the festive season! From Christmas markets to meeting Santa himself, there's a range of things to do at these events which will be perfect for all of the family to enjoy.

Hever Castle, Kent

Situated in the heart of the Kent countryside, Hever Castle & Gardens is a Grade 1 listed building and garden, once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn.


Get into the Christmas spirit at Hever Castle this year with traditional Christmas tales. During the daytime you will explore the beautifully decorated Castle room, sparkling Christmas trees and toasty log fires, celebrating traditional Christmas stories.


Discover the Charles Dickens trail, based on the Christmas classic 'A Christmas Carol', and explore the illuminated gardens as darkness falls. Come and ride the carousel and browse the vintage fairground stalls in the gardens, as well as meeting special characters along the Christmas trail. The fun doesn't stop there; come and meet the gorgeous huskies for the ultimate Christmas experience, and meet Father Christmas himself in his grotto!

Drayton Manor: Magical Christmas

Spend a day out with the family at Drayton Manor's Magical Christmas event.

The main event will be held in Thomas Land, which has over 25 rides and attractions such as a 4D cinema, as well as live shows for all of the family to watch and for the little ones to dance to their favourite characters and songs! If this couldn't get any more exciting - come and visit Father Christmas and his helpers at the Castle of Dreams where all children will receive a Christmas present! The day will end with a short but spectacular firework display.


At Drayton Manor you will get an experience like no other, with snow falling throughout the event. If this isn't your thing, then come and visit the 15-acre zoo and meet all of the furry friends, some even talk too!

Thursford Christmas Spectacular

Thursford Christmas Spectacular is the largest Christmas show in the country and has attracted 5.4 million visitors to date!

The show is set in magical surroundings of fairground carousels and mechanical organs. The cast consists of 130 professionals, and many are West End performers. This amazing, feel-good show is a fast-moving performance, delivering non-stop singing, dancing, music, humour and variety. With famous chart toppers being performed, this show will get you right in the Christmas spirit. Not to mention the amazing white doves which will fly across the auditorium!

Make this event more of a mini holiday with friend and family with plenty of options for accommodation around the County, including hotels and family cottages. Travelling isn't an issue when it comes to this event, due to the popularity of it there are over 50 coaches travelling around the country per day!

Birmingham's Frankfurt Market

Birmingham's Frankfurt market is a staple event in the city's annual calendar and a huge favourite which welcomes residents and visitors from across the UK and Europe. This market brings the city to life, with bright lights and over 80 Christmas stalls - it is sure to get you in the Christmas mood! Being the largest German market outside of Germany, the Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas market offers an amazing variety of traditional gifts and goods as well as food and drink like Pretzels, schnitzels, bratwursts, and roasted almonds which will definitely challenge your taste buds.

This Christmas market is a very family friendly event to attend, with things for all of the family to enjoy such as live music On Victoria Square. You can also enjoy buying last minute Christmas presents for the family, from handcrafted wooden gifts to delicate glass baubles; we are sure you won't be short of choice!
